Demotivational slogans.

It's often attributed to Michael Jordan, the old trope "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

That's a feeling that echoes through the psyche of the Schwarzwald locker room. With one tie and every other game a loss so far, nothing is working. They even have that line (happily absent a photo of a basketball player) written on a motivational poster in the room.

Tlacaelel Tepoztli hated that poster. And he hated it more each time he saw it, hated it more each time the team lost, hated it more each time he came back in the room after an unsatisfying practice or half. Hated it so much, he went back to his computer and made his own version of it, matching the graphic style, the font size... everything.

Everything except the key words. If SFV was to be the laughing stock of the league for a while, he at least wanted the team to laugh at something, too.

So: after a tough loss, a player piped up in the locker room. "Hey - is that poster different today?"

It was. It had just taken days for anyone to notice the forgery.

"You don't take 100% of the shots you miss."

A day later, a new one was up:

"You miss 100% of the shots you pass."

Another week later, and players were actually looking at their motivational posters. They asked each other questions about what they were trying to do. When was a missed cross a bad shot? They laughed. Yes, the team sucked. But they were still in it together.
