Scotts Scouting Scoop S25 #2
#1
Gather round, Gather round!
Another round has been played, the outcome becomes clearer as the end gets nearer but do not fret yet, listen to my announcement instead!

Another round of beautiful, boisterous, bellisimo, borderline bespoke foot has been balled and it is me, Scott the Scout here to tell you the latest scoop.

Lets get into it!

Sydney City 2 - 0 Atletico Medellin

Sydney managed to get their first win of the season against Atletico Medellin. The boys in purple had a stellar performance this match and Cam (@CamGoldenGun ) can certainly be proud of his team. Proving once again, it does not matter how bad your coach is, as long as your players are good. and good they were, some special spotlight on S Sei (@xyan ) who’s space creating runs created massive issues for Atletico and he ended up getting a goal and created a clear cut chance as a reward for his effort. A running theme throughout this matchday will be the great performances put out by the goalkeepers, Eric Duic (@Roboeric562 ) was no exception. He did not have a busy night but every time Atletico challenged the goal he was there with his diamond hands.

Istanbul F.K. 0 - 2 Adowa Accra FC

Just looking at the score does not do this match justice, Adowa had an incredible performance and seemed completely in control all game. ending with a 3 xG while keeping Istanbul at only 0.1. Istanbul will need to figure out something because the current set up is clearly not working. Questions will need to be asked of their headcoach (@Afrhite ) for running such an unorthodox formation and not getting the results they expect. A real highlight of this game was Che Youz (@Youz ), who scored both of Adowa Accra’s two goals, the second one being a real beauty. Surprisingly the supposed star striker Blaise N’Kufo (@McTruffles ) was unable to get their first goal once again despite some big chances. He ended the game with 1xG, perhaps some nerves are there for being on the big stage. Only time will tell.

PS Jakarta 2 - 1 Victoria Falls Eagles

Now this was a game that Victoria Falls Eagles would love to forget… and quickly! After getting ahead early in the game through a penalty they even had a shoot for a second penalty. However VAR ruled out this second penalty and after this it was down hill for VFE. Before half time Jakarta had not only equalized but gone ahead of the Eagles and that is how it stayed all game. Disappointing collapse from the team that is well known for soaring. Has manager @Giacomino_raiola finally be found out after two consecutive titles? or will he be able to recover?

Stockholm IK 3 - 0 Port Royal F.C.

Now finally we were rewarded with a massive game at the end. Both teams here have won their first match convincingly, both have won it 4-2 to be exact. With how the results have played out whichever team that wins here would go top of the table. This game had a lot of difference makers but I think more than anything the keeper of Stockholm Moew enBach (@Moew ) will have been carried on the shoulders of his teammates after the heroic performance he pulled off. Despite ending the game on similar xG (2.24 for Stockholm and 2.19 for Port Vale) Moew managed to keep a clean sheet and look good doing it. With this win Stockholm go on top of the table and have been declared the early, but certainly not undeserving favorites to win the title. To get an inside scoop of the workings of Stockholm I have reached out to Rich Wynne (@Hoodz_91 ) for comment.

Interview with Rich Wynne

Some inspiring words from a rookie that speaks way beyond his years, all I know is the other academy coaches will have a big mountain to climb if they want to knock @Hoodz_91 of his throne!

This has been Scott the Scout, filling you in with another scoop!

Stay up to date, stay informed and see you next time.

Edit: In my excitement I have forgotten to announce my vote for Player of The Matchday, without further ado:

Moew enBach (@Moew ) 8.0 rating

It was a tough decision between Che Youz and Moew enBach however because this week was such a goalkeeper focused affair it felt only deserved to award the Player of The Matchday award to the goalkeeper most deserving of it. Moew enBach made it so Stockholm could play very offensively because everytime Port Royal threathened the goal he closed the door. Impressive performance for the young goalkeeper.
