The SSL Cup qualification round has ended. In it, the lot brought us together with Cairo City. Unfortunately, we failed to win the match, losing minimally 0:1. Now I will tell you in more detail how this match went for me and the team.
We went into the match trying to impose our passing game, and on paper we did just that, but without any result. We managed to complete 388 pass attempts with an impressive 82.7% accuracy, controlling long stretches of possession. The total distance covered by the team (135.6 km) testified to the high pace of work on the field.
However, despite all our superiority, we scored a total of only 13 shots on goal and, worse, only 1 shot on target (that is, in fact, one real attempt). This single shot was handled by Cairo goalkeeper Johnny Kring, who kept the score in the match.
Despite conceding a goal, our team was organized in defense: only 1 yellow card and 12 fouls. Meanwhile, the defenders of Cairo, led by Ekon Ayo (rating 7.4) and Bodhi Grizz (7.1), stood firm, leaving almost no second chances.
Unfortunately, we were eliminated in the first round of the cup for us and still have not won a single victory in the season... So we need to fix the mistakes as soon as possible, find our game and not lose heart. Everything can still be fixed, and I believe in it.
