Getting Better
#1
London, England

As the portal ticks over for the new season, Mendes is using the off-season to work on a lot of his attributes. Although he had a great rookie season, he knows the second season is always the toughest. The sophomore slump will always find you unless you work on your craft every day.

Mendes sat down with management at the end of the season, where they had a good conversation regarding last season and the outlook for the new season. They loved the development of Mendes and were very complimentary of how he fit into their midfield as a rookie. They were impressed with his attitude and commitment to getting better. They gave Mendes a great off-season plan and things to work on.

Most of the off-season was spent working on the physical side of Mendes' game, more specifically, speed. With Inter London being in Division One next season, the game is going to be a lot quicker, and the players will be a lot better. Mendes was working with a speed coach to increase his pace and acceleration. Secondly, he worked on his mental attributes, especially on the defensive side of the ball. This includes work on his tackling and anticipation. A lot of work on the practice field with specialized drills really helped Mendes.

Inter London will be facing off against F.C. Kaapstad and Krung Thep FC in preseason, two new opponents in the first division. They will use these games to get back into game shape as well as test themselves and their tactics. They also found out their first-round opponent for The Cup, where they will be facing off against Schwarzwälder FV in the qualifying round. With the season fast approaching, Mendes is back in London with his team and will use the remaining days to settle in to what should be a fun but grueling season.
