Minor League Breakdown: Saphira Brightscales
#1
We've played three matches so far in Season 26, and Saphira Brightscales has come into the league ready for the stiffer competition. It was always going to be a question mark heading into her rookie season on how she was going to match-up against the stiffer competition in the Minor Leagues compared to the Academy, but she has looked up to the task so far in the season. Her new team, the Masques, currently hold a record of 2 wins, 1 draw, and no losses placing them in third place in Minor 2 at the moment. Let's take a look at the index and see where she has exceled so far in her rookie season, and where she can make improvements.

Assists - 3

Saphira has 3 assists through three games so far this season, placing her in second in the Minor 2 standings in total assists. She has done a really good job at finding her open teammates when pressing down the field.

Distance Ran - 44.3km

Saphira is currently second in distance ran in Minors 2, behind only teammate Sadie Black who has ran .1km more than Saphira.

Chances Created - 8

Saphira is lapping the field in chances created with 8. The next most in Minors 2 is 4 chances created.

Shots/Shots on Target - 3/4

Being a back defender, Saphira doesn't get many chances at the goal, but she has been pretty accurate when she does get an opportunity putting 3 of her for shots on target.

Average Rating - 8.17

Saphira comes in at 4 in Minors 2 for Average Rating per match. In a slight surprise to some, her teammates on the Masques help make up 3 out of the top 5 spots in Average Rating, and 6 of the top 10 spots in Minors 2.

Pass % - 89.03%

Saphira has done a very nice job at finding her target when attempting passes. She has completed 138 of her 155 pass attempts so far.

Interceptions - 8

A main stay for defenders is how well they perform at taking the ball away from the other team. Saphira is also in the top 10 of interceptions in Minors 2, coming in with 8 after 3 games.

There has been a lot to be excited about through the first three games of Season 26 for Saphira, but she knows she can play better. She also knows that she HAS to play better if her team wants a shot at Minors promotion this season. Individual awards be damned; her entire goal this season is to see the team get back into Minors 1 one way or the other. The only one standing in her way now is herself.
