Weekly PT243
#1
I said last week that the division would need to watch out if we beat Rova well we rose to the challenge, not only rose to the challenge but then exceeded by picking up 2 victories in a row that would see us sitting pretty in 2nd and only 4 points behind 1st place Rova!
It was such a big game against them but the boys and everyone involved stood up tall when it really mattered. Going up 1-0 and all was going right for us but we let it get to our heads sadly they quickly equalised, really it just goes to show that against an opponent of that caliber you simply can't let it slip for a moment or you will be punished!

We would continue to poke and prod at their defence looking for an opening, looking for that opportunity we needed but a team as well structured as Rova doesn't give you many and if you don't take the few you might get them it's curtains. In the 78th minute one such opportunity arisen and none only than Wang Zhihao would be the one to slot it home and get us back ahead… then we just had to shut up shop for 10+ mins and see it out.
To say my heart dropped when I seen Jack Pow beautiful slide the ball past the keeper and in the net in the dying moments of the game would be an understatement, and another warning shot of what you face when you come up against a top top team. But thankfully he went early and was offside!
The celebrations couldn't last forever, we still had another game against Masques Sacrés who were still ahead of us in the league going into the game. This time we were away so we didn't have the backing of the Stade-De-Le-Fleur behind us but our incredible still away support!

Going up 2-0 in 20 mins we were in dream land, with goals from Haye and my brother Barry we felt unstoppable but then the sucker punch came and they pulled not just 1 back but managed to get their 2nd and equalised just before half time. Heading into the 2nd half it was simply more of the same from us and learning from the Rova game that if we stick to the plan and keep the poking and prodding, we will get our chances and as the game wore on so did their legs!
Once again Haye would find the net to put the boys in black back ahead and like a quick 1-2 punch 4 minutes later the ball would come to a third of the Tartan Trio, Reece Munro, just outside their box who then find me with a pass and I simply had one thing on my mind…

“Get it to your left foot and slot it away!”

And slot it away I did, I managed to make even just a yard for myself before sliding it nicely into the far post and would help surely seal the game and place us nicely into 2nd place!
All-in-all a week to remember for me and everyone at La Metropole, from the fans to the players to the staff… it shows that hard work pays off, patience pays off, ambition pays off... and ultimately it shows

Montreal United are back and we're not just back to participate, but we're back to scrap and claw for everything!
