Writing this from the inside of a yurt on a portugese farm near portalegre. Life here is a lot different than it was compared to the hussle and bussle in Paris. No quickly eaten croissant before jumping in the car to training. We wake up with the sun, take a cold plunge and then start by gathering some food from the garden. Everything grows here, from cucumbers to salad to herbs and pumpkins. After saying hi to the chickens I make some omelet and toast and start the day. Its fig picking day today.
Sometimes I feel guilty having left my team behind, I still play all the matches ofcourse but I am not as involved as I was before. Paris however has only thrived in my absence, USP on the other hand... What was supposed to be the last hurrah of the old guard is slowly turning to another disappointment.
After watching some of the games on my bad wifi here I have huriedly writtenbsome notes and tactical advice to the management back in Sao Paulo. Hopefully a strong end of the season is to come.
For me I will just keep enjoying my time here, I feel like the laidback life has improved my talents on the pitch more than the professional training facilities did.
