Striking a Nerve
#1
When I arrived to ask Kaz about this week's practices and games, he wasn't alone for once.  This time, he was with Kaapstad's energetic (to say the least) striker, Dante Von Wolfe @Bloodless .  The two seemed to be having a spirited conversation, okay, spirited on Dante's half, about their skill sets.

Right off the bat, I could tell that Kaz wasn't fully buying what he himself was selling, seeing that shit-eating grin on his face as he poked fun at his teammate.  "If we swapped positions, I would have had twenty goals by now.  Just because of..." he used his hand to demonstrate his height compared to Dante's.  "All of those corner kicks wouldn't have gone over my head."

It was low; he knew Dante had struggled with not scoring earlier in the season, but lately the striker had been putting the ball in the net with consistency.  It was low, but obviously it was Kaz's way of joking with his teammate to get him riled up.

I could tell from Dante's reaction his rant about how incorrect this was wouldn't be finished anytime soon, so I stepped outside of the room to review my notes on Kaapstad's draws against Rapid Mygar SC and Inter London.  Surprise, surprise, Kaz had ended his drought... of yellow cards. Also, not a surprise, the game he got it in, was the higher rating of his out of the two.

Through the door I could hear Dante still excitedly talking about how wrong Kaz was.

I took a seat next to the Coke machine and closed my eyes for a nap.
