Alright then, the Academy season is officially over, Jakarta are once again the proud champions and focus has begun to shift to the drafts coming up later this week. The expansion draft is the first of these, and by this time tomorrow the various discord channels should be lit up with chatter about the results of the draft. Getting this first draft done will shake things up and really help to paint a better picture of what is going to happen in the Prospect Draft. The S27 Academy class has been patiently waiting to hear their names called and I personally can’t wait to see where everyone ends up. There are some big sim league names in this class, so it will be fun to see which users' reputations precede them and which new creates drop further than they should, becoming steals.
With that being said, the Academy Index has been updated, so I think it is time for a final review of the season that was for Rylakn. Outside of the Sim it was a wild season for me, lots of behind the scenes work on Expansion applications, Branding, scouting and draft planning. I was able to consistently upgrade my player in line with my plan that I laid out at the start of the season. Good thing I love spreadsheets and planned out my seasons worth of TPE before I ever put my hand up for expansion. I still have more TPE to earn to hit the full plan, so I will likely get a few games into next season before capping out my current player goals. Hopefully in the offseason I can sit down and map out the rest of the next season's TPE too, so I don’t have to worry about it during the season. This seems unlikely alongside building up an org and LR from nothing with all the new wonderful members of the org, but lets see what happens. I was able to get full equipment and a weak foot upgrade this season, so I will be looking to knock out the final weak foot upgrade next season and then fill out my traits and maybe some positions depending on where my manager decides to play me, oh wait, that’s me….
As far as stats go, it was a very successful season for Rylakn at Left Wing Back, and I’d like to think he’d be in consideration to be a first round pick in the draft if he wasn’t excluded for being assigned to IRC/SDG with our second round pick.
Looking over the Academy and excluding Legends, he finished:
T-2nd in Player of the match awards with 2 (leader had 3)
3rd for distance travelled with 191.3 kms (leader had 202.4)
T-8th for assists with 4 (leader had 7)
5th for successful crosses with 23 (leader had 35)
T-3rd for chances created with 15 (leader had 17)
2nd for Key Headers with 17 (leader had 28)
3rd for Dribbles with 42 (leader had 51)
4th for tackles won with 43 (leader had 45)
2nd for Key Tackles with 6 (leader had 10)
2nd for interceptions with 39 (leader had 53)
T-9th for clearances with 20 (leader had 34)
4th in Progressive passes with 88 (leader had 146)
In addition he also scored 1 goal, completed 85% of his passes, 23% of his crosses and 81% of his tackles. Rylakn also finished the season with 0 mistakes leading to goals (despite being credited with an awfully harsh own goal) and an average rating of 7.36.
All in all it was as good a season statistically for my player, as it was fun for me to watch and enjoy the games with my team mates and fellow academy class S27 users.
