Draft day is finally here, and the highly touted S27 SSL Prospects have officially found their new homes. A.C. Romana came away with three academy players that will help bolster their Inter London team for next season. With the promotion of a few minor players and the loss of some players to expansion, they were able to land a defender and two attackers, two positions in need of reinforcements.
Meisho Doto was selected with the 8th overall pick in the draft. She is a primary centerback from Japan but is versatile enough to play both left and right back. In 11 appearances in the academy league, she scored one goal on 19 shots, with seven key passes. She was very good defensively and was a monster in aerial duels. Her best attributes are her physical attributes, where she is one of the pacier defenders with great strength.
Teddy Fantobens was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the draft. He is a center attacking midfielder but can play any position in the middle. The American-born playmaker has had a pretty successful season with 5 goals and one assist in 12 games. Inter London will be looking for Fantobens to help unlock the offense, as Fantobens was among the top 10 in key passes. Fantobens is very silky on the ball, with his best attributes being his dribbling and passing.
Prodigy Louis was selected with the 39th overall pick in the draft. The third-round selection is primarily a right winger, but can also play a striker if needed. Prodigy had only entered the academy late in the season but was able to score a goal in 4 appearances. Louis is known for his composure in front of goal, with his acceleration allowing him to blow past defenders.
All three prospects should make an immediate impact for Inter London; there are a few positions open in the backline. There aren't any options on the bench currently, so this is much-needed depth and rotation.
