Getting to know Franco Maestro

It is a well-known fact that Italy is a nation that breeds legends of the footballing world. From SSL legends like Alessandro Del Pirlo to the Scarpetta brothers, to the current generation of high performing players such as Qartista, Italy and the Alpine Federation are a hotbed of talent. The latest name in this long line of players is Franco Maestro who has recently joined the SSL Academy.
Hailing from Milan, Maestro grew up on the streets of the Italian fashion capital to a family of investment bankers. Wanting to escape his parents’ shadow Franco often ran away from home to the nearby football pitches and joined pick-up games wherever he could. His speed and flair for scoring goals were soon spotted by some scouts and after much discussion between his parents, academies in Milan and himself, it was agreed that he would join the AC Milan academy on a study-sports program.
Over the next few years, Franco Maestro thrived at the academy scoring goal after goal in dominating fashion. By age 16 the pond he was in had become too small and thus he set his sights on a bigger target; the ocean of talent that is the SSL. Even for a gifted youngster like him, it would be a long arduous road through the international SSL Academy, the draft, the minor league to make it to where he wants to be; the SSL Majors to prove himself and become the best striker in the world.
