Player Development- Tadgh’Ratty’ O’Hurley
#1
It’s a weird experience, getting on a plane to fly somewhere go to the draft excited to head to your new home wherever that may be, and then you end up on the same plane back. Not that Tadgh was unhappy about being back in Canada, in fact he was happy to be there. He loved the familiarity, he loved the people, even though things would be much more French in Montreal than he was used to, but he was sure that would come flooding back to him as well. He spent some time getting to know the city, the stadium and the locker room. This was his chosen family for the foreseeable future so he may as well fit in. He filled out his paperwork for the team, and the doctors, and the lawyers, and for taxes. He filled out so much paperwork he didn’t even know what most of it was. It was such a whirlwind few days of reaching the city when he received a knock at the door for the courier he took the package as if on auto pilot. He dropped it down on the coffee table as he settled back down on the sofa. It was then when he noticed the package didn’t feel like paperwork. As he reached over and grabbed the package he definitely felt fabric like some sort of clothing. As he tore the package apart he caught his first glimpses of the new kit he would be wearing. It was beautiful, stark contrast between the green and yellow  and there on the back… O’Hurley. 42. It was a dream come true. He was only just realizing that his job was now to play soccer. Literally getting paid to kick a ball. He was pretty sure that meant he made it in life.
