Hat-trick for Mendes

The start of season 27 has come fast for Inter London. After two successful friendlies to get up to match fitness, every game from here on out will be an important one if London wants to win Division Two and get promoted again.

The first matchday saw Inter London win 6-2 against the new expansion team CD Alfama. João Mendes had his best game in the SSL so far. He scored a hat-trick and was the player of the match. Arthur Cain had a brace of his own and Benjamin Munro also found the scoresheet. Ryan O'Neill has two assists, with Meisho Doto, Pope Francis and Chris McZehrl also joining the fun with assists of their own. London dominated the game with 28 total shots to 6 and controlled the momentum of the game. A great start to the season in a game they were expected to win.

The SSL Cup Qualifier midweek saw Inter London win 4-2 against F.C. Kaapstad. Benjamin Munro scored a brace and put in a player of the match performance, with Arthur Cain and Daibhi Barr also scoring. Ryan O'Neill once again had two assists and Pope Francis had his second assist in as many games. The game stats were fairly even, but this was a tale of two halves. The first half was controlled by F.C. Kaapstad, but London really came out strong in the second half and put the game to bed. This was a very offensive game with a total of 46 shots combined.

The second matchday saw Inter London win 2-0 against Cairo City. The combination of Cain and O'Neill continued to cook, as Cain scored a brace and O'Neill was the player of the match with another assist. João Mendes also got an assist of his own, his first of the season. London had 63% possession and controlled most of the game, but Joseph Daniel Kakou really saved London with some important saves to pull through with the victory.
