man city and the big bad FFP
#1
114 charges, hopefully

It feels like weve been waiting for the ffp verdict for man city. Everyone from rival fans to dejected man u fans are asking the same question, what does a fair and fitting punishment actually look like?

Ive seen plenty of wild ideas from all corners of the internet, from relegation down to the bottom division of english soccer, stripping past titles and making pep guardiola personally paint the lines for their next sunday league game, all the way to just a (massive) monetary fine. Essentially turning the FFP into a p2w service (shoutout EA)

Currently the option with the highest chance of going through (in my humble opinion) is a massive 60 point reduction on their next season. This would mean that man city would need essentially a clear 100 point unbeaten streak just to stay out of the bottom few places. They would be lucky to stay above 17th.

Whatever the verdict ends up being, one thing is guaranteed no one will be 100% satisfied. The penalty will either be too light or too harsh. Either way twitter is sure to explode into a war with accusations being thrown at both sides. Personally, im expecting man city to double their lawyer budget and make it difficult for ANYTHING to get done.
