With only 1 season left to go on a strong career for Alexandros Mograine I figured this is the perfect time to reflect on his time in the SSL after 12 seasons. To start from the beginning, a young Alexanadros Mograine came over from the SHL to try soccer as a side sport not really knowing anything about the sport and thinking it easy (he was very wrong!) and despite showcasing some strong athleticism and a pro mindset really struggled to grasp how and where to play until he settled on right defense/wingback. It is after a fumbling in the academy where he struggled to focus on everything happening that currently rebuilding Hollywood took a chance on him 3rd overall despite his floundering, determined to show him the ropes and direct his focus seeing his potential. Call it a twist of fate or a strange coincidence but with the rebuilding state Mograine started up in Hollywood and spent his whole career to this point as a starter, with all the pressure put on him he definitely struggled those first 3 seasons but this jump straight into the fire seemed to be a pressure cooker as the team was still rebuilding anyways and allowed him to grow faster then thought possible. 4 seasons into his career in S19 was when the shift began, gradual at first on paper but if you looked at his advanced stats, the entire defense core for Hollywood would explode with an example being his expected assists exploding to 4 times more then his first 3 seasons. It is with this explosion that once S20 rolled around Hollywood fully left the rebuild stage and started making serious contention buzz even winning out a few times in their S20-S27 window phase where Mograine himself did not look out of place putting up several seasons over 10 assists and over 400kms run! with the biggest highlight of his career coming in S26 before father time came to claim him. In that S26 season Mograine would lead his division in assists and earning MVP and a spot on the team of the season in which he really cemented his legacy. That unfortunately leads to S27 where the age set in, it is at the conclusion of that season where he realized that he only had 1 more in him as he would only become a hindrance that he announced his intent to retire at the end of S28. We will see how he plays in his final season but he has earned his sunset and we will see if its enough to earn a hall of fame spot or simply a hall of very good.
