The dust has cleared and the we already have 3 games in. So far Cairo is doing fine. all of our opponents were high to elite echelon teams so it wasn't easy to take points. Anyways, 1 win and 2 losses, though both of them were separated by one goal. And Sydney escaped with a win as well. Right now the team doesn't look as hopeless as they were last season. Looks like the hopes for at least mid table finish isn't the pipe dream and exciting times for Cairo is in the future.
As for Elmis....well. 4 GAA. Not that he did any mistakes there. Just good shots or unlucky rebounds. Though I feel he could've played a bit better at the penalty goal. He kinda guessed it right, but couldn't stretch out quickly enough to save that shot. Other than that, he hasn't commited a sin against his team despite letting four goals. Still hoping for a clean sheet sooner than later as he could pull that in pre-season already. Yeah yeah we know pre seasons don't matter. Especially if you're not a rookie anymore. For Elmis though, this is some morale boost as he's still trying fight for the Cairo starter position against Barflett. He had something similar success so far, though he racked up a win against Buenos Aires.
In the next week we will have another three opponents. The expansion Paris and two higher tier teams again. London and Athenai. London is the team that gave Elmis his first clean sheet, but it remains to be seen if he will be starting against them in the actual league game. I do assume he will once again take one starting game and Barflett the rest two. Though again, it remains to be seen.
Also, where's standings? We need no errors, we need standings!
