With the recent addition of league and cup records to the index, I thought it be nice to take a deeper look into some of the current records that might change in S5.
Starting off, it's easy to see how is able to fight for the top positions in the league the past two seasons as the record holder for goals and expected goals Owen Forty-Four is miles ahead of second with fewer games played. Forty-Four came into the league in S2 with and had a good run scoring 12 goals in 14 league matches but it wasn't until being picked up by Sydney in the expansion draft that we really saw what could be done. Averaging more than one goal per game and keeping track with the expected goals, the total now stands at 61 goals scored (3 in S5) from 55 league games played. The runner up, S1's Franco Torres has 44 in 65 games played.
For most goals there are usually teammates that help out to bring the ball to a high scoring position. The record holder for the number of assists is also currently playing for but has secured their assists from during S1-S4. Kuai Liang, or Liang Kuai on the index, has recorded 27 assists (index being fixed to show the correct value) in 65 games while Hunter Jones on has 22 assists in 65 games. There is a lot more competition for the record in this statistic and while there are multiple midfielders and strikers on the list, there are also many full/wing-backs assisting the goalscoring. Deedee Yoker (), Tim Possible () and Ask Jeeves () all have more than 18 assists and fall into the top 10.
On the more disciplinary side, the first season of still sees an effect in the record books as the first couple of games they played saw more yellow and red cards than what has previously been accumulated from the entire first season. Leading the charge is Ioannis Papastathopoulos with 22 yellow cards and 2 red cards. Now there are multiple players that have accumulated more than 15 yellow cards but Papastathopoulos stands out given that he almost gets a yellow card in every other game. Good thing that there are no suspensions for these infractions in the league.
More records are to be added, especially goalkeeper records.
