A season of transition and development
#1
For Glenn Smart, this could be a breakout season. He has started to adjust to the different tempo of the professional leagues and is learning with every game that his positioning and speed are the most critical elements of his game — allowing him to really zone in on what will deliver the biggest improvements in training. However, with the rest of the defensive unit at AC Romana also being relatively young, the transition has been made harder as there simply is not anyone that he can look to for an example of how things should be done.

This is leaving Smart with a bit of a dilemma. He’s having to find his own way of dealing with situations, while not necessarily depending on those around him — as they too are having struggles of their own. Thankfully, with Romana’s preference for keeping the ball, this is reducing the number of attacks that he is having to face and when those attacks do happen, they are typically on the counter — meaning he is able to rely on his physical attributes, rather than his experience.

If he can get to grips with these issues and perhaps become a little more composed on the ball, there is absolutely no reason why Smart cannot become a leading figure in the progress and development of Romana and potentially become one of the leading center backs in the division.
