Season 9 of the Simulation Soccer League had really changed the landscape of the league with the amount of mid-season player movement. Hollywood and Athenai were the two main teams to shake up their rosters, moving out a lot of pieces. Hollywood started it all off by trading longtime striker and league legend Ricky Bobby to Montreal in Division 2, along with Alfredo Puttanesca, another longtime Hollywood player. Hollywood then traded for Nicolas Inclan from Sao Paulo. These moves were all in an attempt to get younger as regression for S1 players happens after this season. Athenai, after hanging around the mid-table in Division 1 in the past few seasons, decided to depart with much of their core players. The first player to depart Athenai was midfielder Nico Fischier as he was shipped off to AC Romana in Division 2. Second was Deedee Yoker, a legendary wingback and a longtime player for Athenai, getting shipped off to Reykjavik in Division 2. The most surprising move was seeing S4 played Sydney Ramirez getting traded from Athena to Sao Paulo. S4 players are still 3 seasons away from regression, so t was surprising to see Athenai depart from a younger player. Perhaps Ramirez wanted a change of scenery.
