Team of the season tournament, first 10 matchdays

After the first article more than a week ago (Part 1), I forgot to make a 2nd one last week, so here is part 2 to the team of the season tournament. This article will cover MD6 to MD10 to see where this little competition has come to after 10 matches.

Matchday 6:
Season 1 Division 1 - Season 2 Division 1 (0-1)
Season 4 Division 1 - Season 7 Division 2 (2-1)

We come back to an exciting matchday with quite a few big matches, S2D1 defeating S1D1 1-0, for a match at the bottom of the table, for the reset we also have S4D1-S7D2 (2-1), and the face-off between season 6 and season 8, both D1 and D2 of season 6 winning quite surprisingly. In the meantime another smaller upset happened later on with S9D1 only managing to draw against S10D2.


Matchday 7:

Another matchday with a big match for the bottom places, where S3D1 faced off against S1D1 and won 6-2. There were some other interesting matches with S7D2 beating S6D1, S8D1 beating S9D2, and S7D1 beating S8D2 probably among the more interesting matches. A upset did come about in one of the other matches with S6D2 winning 4-0 against S10D2.

Some interesting matches for matchday 8 were the clash between the 2nd division of S6 and S5, ending with S6D2 winning 2-1. Other interesting matches were S9D1-S8D1 (0-1), and S9D2 - S7D2 (3-0). One interesting fact to note is that S3D1 managed to get 2 red cards in their match against S5D1.

First thing to note, this matchday contains the first ever point loss, and loss in general for S10D1, which means every single team has lost a game now. To achieve this S9D2 did need S10D1 to get a red card in the 73rd minute. A lot of close matches, with S7D1-S5D2, and S7D2-S9D1 both ending in a draw. In the meantime S8D2-S1D1 just shows how big the difference is between S8 and S1, ok there was a red card for S1D1 to make it quite this big but still the higher up seasons are expected to end higher than the lower seasons.


Matchday 10:

Let’s start off with S8D2-S5D2 being an absolutely great game ending with a 6-4 win for S8D2. S6D2-S7D2 had quite a few goals less, but still an interesting game with a 1-0 win for S6D2. S9D1, meanwhile managed to get a win over S10D1, which means S10D1 gets their 2nd ever loss right after their first.



Now after these 10 games are done, the table looks as follows:

Easily seeable at the top is how the last 2 matches for S10D1 have made it so that they are still within 1 game reach of S9D1, S7D1, but also surprisingly S5D1, this last one is currently in 2nd which is quite surprising for a season 5 team. Surprisingly far down we see S10D2, not even being the best D2 team. S4D1 did fall down the table quite a bit now being the 6th best team. At the bottom of the table we do see S1D1 with 0 points, S2D1 with 3 points, and both S3D1 and S5D2 with 6 points. This group is 6 points separated from S8D2 in 12th.


In terms of goals, Ricky Bobby (10D1), managed to go from 3rd to 1st, where Ricky Bobby (S8D1) is once again equaling the first place in goals. Berocka Aloisi (S7D2) has fallen back down to 3rd, from the 1st place after 5 matchdays.
For the average rating, the 1st place is the same, but the 2nd is now Linnea Nesse (S10D1), were a different Deedee Yoker is in 3rd, with the S7D1 version replacing the S10D1 version.
Now onto assists, from the original 3 only the 3rd place in Ask Jeeves (S5D1), is back. Being 3rd after MD5, Jeeves is now 1st in assists. The top 3 in assists are all 3 on 7 assists though with the other 2 being Linnea Nesse (S10D1), and Papadopoulos (S10D2).
Player of the match is one list that has been totally overhauled, gone are the original 3, and now the top 3 is Berocka Aloisi (S8D2), and a combined 2nd for Ricky Bobby (S10D1), and Papadopoulos (S10D2).
Now onto clean sheets, here is also mostly an overhaul, with only Elmis the Heretic (S9D1) still in there who was and still is combined 1st place, but now that is together with Jannik Andersen (S8D1). Gunnarsson (S5D1) takes the 3rd place spot in the top 3.
Lastly the yellow cards. Deedee Yoker (S10D1), Papastathopoulos (S5D2), and Dorian Lexington (S2D1) are all 3 on 5 yellows. Deedee Yoker (S10D1) is still in the top 3, with the other 2 being new entries.


Lastly, a nice overview of the matches played so far. The standings are made with the team of the left as “main” team, and the top at the top the team they played again (so for example S1D1 lost 0-10 against S5D2 and thus the match is a loss (red)). Red is a loss, yellow is a draw, green is a win.
