SSL Watch, Italy – Welcome back to SSL Watch, your SSL rumor aggregate and commentator. We’ve got an update from our Italian reporting team in regards to the SSL Academy. As previously reported, Amore Delo of Milan, Italy has been picked up by the SSL academy. Delo will play for Stockholm Idrottsklubb, likely as a center midfielder. Interestingly enough, fellow countryman Alessandro Del Pero has also been assigned to the Stockholm team as well.
Actually, moreso than a fellow countryman, these two kids are from the same city of Milan. They are also both midfielders and are of similar heights and builds. Additionally, they are both skipping the traditional Italian football league ladder, opting for the direct SSL academy route. What sets them apart is the nature of their origins – Del Pero is a top talent emerging from a middleclass family, successfully scouted from a local Italian little-league team. Meanwhile, as previously mentioned, Amore Delo emerges from the upper echelons of Italian football academies, receiving funding from a well-to-do family.
