QSW: A Look Inside Academy Travel
#1
Part of the charm of playing in a top world academy is the opportunity to travel and play against some of the other top academies the world has to offer. Not only are players subject to the best coaches and training schedule to help develop, but they only cut their teeth against the finest opposition to accelerate their growth. It’s a winning formula that has produce many of the worlds great players, but just what does it entail to have such a selective schedule?

After speaking with some players and staff, it seems that the basically all their travel is quite the ordeal. “The closest game’s we have are in Africa and New Zealand, and those are still 9 hours by jet” a source reported. “The jet lag is a real issue, so we work hard to ensure that players sleep on the plane, or stay awake throughout, in order to keep their bodies ready to play in the new time zones.” What pastimes do the players do on a half day light to Stockholm? Watching movies, playing cards, battle royales, or even just watching film from other games to improve their craft. “Because we can’t train up in the air, its probably some of the most important bonding time the team gets”
