After finally hoisting the trophy last season, Schwarzwälder FV captain Karl Schenkinger has finally delivered on a promise he made back when the team had first moved from Accra to Pforzheim: Should the team become champion while he was still playing there, he'd spend an entire weekend alone in the Black Forest, relying on his survival skills.
At first, everything went smoothly. As a big fan of survival shows on TV, Schenkinger knew that he'd have to build a shelter first and look for food later. Everything went well, and Schenkinger quickly found two trees where he could hang his hammock, in a spot that was also nicely protected from rain. However, Schenkingers luck quickly ran out during the first night. As the defensive specialist tried to climb out of his hammock to take a very professional leak, he was attacked by a wild animal (according to Schenkinger himself it was definitely a boar, but Schwarzwald-Experts have pointed out that there are no boars living in the area, but that it is known for being inhabited by a lot of squirrels).
Reportedly, Schenkinger survived the incident with little more than his pride damaged, and made it through the rest of the weekend without greater troubles.
