Freya Petra Eliza Jolien “Carolien” Miedema a Dutch semi-professional footballer born out of Hoogeveen Netherlands. Carolien is a primary right midfielder that can also play right attacking midfielder and right back as secondary positions. Her passion for the sport came from her sister, current Man City forward Vivianne Miedema, having started practicing with her whenever she was home, eventually joining VV De Weide. Much like her sister she chooses to not celebrate goals or assist, citing her father always told her to be humble. Carolien unlike Vivianne doesn’t care about scoring goals much rather having assisted in the goals being scored by her teammates. Vivianne once said in an interview “Carolien is an interesting player and I’m probably the reason for that. When we would always practice together she would always be the one passing to me for me to score. Carolien never wanted to switch with me; she was always fine with just passing to me. I could never understand what made her want to get assists over scoring goals.” Venturing for the first time outside of the Netherlands she leaves for academy team Stockholm IK to further her professional career and hopefully live up to the last name her sister has been making known.
