It played out like one of his favorite whodunit novels. A compelling case could be made for any suspect in the room, but at the end of the day only one suitor could be selected. And when the finger finally was levelled in a direction it surely took some by surprise. Hollywood wasn’t the most obvious choice going in. More question marks surround their future than other possible destinations, but in a strange way that was part of the appeal. The cast of characters has been assembled, but the script still has a few twists and turns before reaching its conclusion.
The real draw though? Hollywood’s local film industry connections. It is rumored that in addition to the contract, the team was able to offer the Belgian a three movie deal adapting some of his favorite mystery novels. Hercule, of course, will be cast as the lead investigator, living out his fantasy on the big screen. A great deal of work remains to achieve success on the pitch and at the box office. The first episode in this new chapter begins in South Africa where the rising talent will be scouting film locations and hopefully helping to bring Kaapstad a minor league title.
