Match Day 6 is in the books and we’ve got another edition of LemonBluu’s Best XI! Now that we’ve had a few of these, I’m also going to start tallying the list of who’s made it in here so far!
This is what you can consider LemonBluu 2.2, LemonBluu is considering raw TPE less and sim performance more to really consider our Best XI as per Academy.
Our squad this time is really balanced! We’ve got everyone basically at their correct spots in the SSL style 4-2-3-1, but it’s kind of more a 4-1-1-3-1 with our DM slot, you’ll see it in a sec!
GK: Pablo Kawasaki (James Asprey)
Mobek has been dethroned! The secondary keeper of Kawasaki has come up into the starter slot and Asprey has even nudged Mobek off the team!
DEF: Tyranno Criminal, Timo Geurts, Chris Warrick, Trick Johnson (Jonny Foster, Cesare Pinkman, BigMac Johnson)
We’ve got a pair of wingers in Tyranno Criminal and Trick Johnson, who flank Timo Geurts and Chris Warrick (a new addition to the Best XI!). Very balanced here, with two real defenders on their natural sides and two wingers on their natural sides! Very happy with how this line was created
MID: Marean Dohbra, Alexis Ramos, Dippy Dip, Santiago Mitidiero, Louis Ashworth (Stefan Davidović, Tony Delvecchio)
Alright, our midfield is offensively focused, which makes sense with how much talent we have in this Academy season pushing the ball forward. Dohbra is our first midfielder and therefore gets to be in his preferred RAM spot, and that easily slots in Ramos and Dip into CAM and LAM respectively.
The “issue” here is that we’ve got Louis Ashworth with a pair of absolutely stellar games being considered more for an attacking B2B midfield role by LemonBluu, and our defensive stalwart in
Santiago Mitidiero is more than up for the task of anchoring the midfield!
This is an aggressive, fast team that will flood the danger zone and the Mitidiero/Geurts/Warrick trio will form a strong shape to keep our sheets as clean as we can.
ST: Predrag Dobrić (Kim Minjeong)
With a swap to 4-2-3-1, we’re only rostering a second striker on the bench, which is where Minjeong will slide down to, somehow missing 4 clear chances makes you be considered less good at the spot where you need to score! Dobrić is showing their clear ability to finish and play anywhere in the final third and will probably be our striker to beat for this Academy Best XI.
Let’s look at some Best XI stats! I’m going to be ignoring the pre-season Best XI as that was off of no data. We’ve got 15 more players who’ve been on the Best XI once, and we’ve got 4 players who’ve been on each of the Best XI!
Timo Geurts has started all 3 times, Alexis Ramos and Santiago Mitidiero with 2 starts each, and Jonny Foster with three bench appearances!
