Paris Matchday 8
#1
Matchday 8 of the Simulation Soccer League's Minor division saw AS Paris face off against Inter London, a team they struggled against in their previous meeting earlier in the season. AS Paris were keen to make up for their previous results in this fixture, hoping to continue the strong run of form that sees them sitting in the top 3 of the league standings.

London started on the front foot, the high press forcing an error from the Paris back line and ultimately forced Aguilera into a good save to keep Paris level in the first minute.
Following this wake up call Paris settled in quickly, confident on the ball in possession and working it across the field with ease. A nice progression of passes around the defense resulted in Wince finding space with the ball in the centre circle. Wince finds Fish who takes one touch before playing an inch perfect through ball behind the Inter London back line for Belmont to race onto. We know Belmont doesn't waste chances like that, as he finished smartly to claim his 8th of the season.

Looking to get back into the game, a long goal kick for London causes Duck some trouble as he is beaten to the ball deep inside the Paris half. Unfortunately for Paris, this allows Cue to sneak behind the back line and a nice finish sees London equalise.

The first half continued in this manner, chances for both teams at either end with Inter London even seeing a goal to take the lead disallowed for an offside in the build up.
Ultimately, no one could find a breakthrough and the two sides went into halftime all square.

The cagey affair continued in the opening stages of the second half, neither team giving much away but half chances falling wasted at both ends.
AS Paris see a half chance fall their way off a corner, but the ball is deflected wide for another corner. Lizard gets clever the second time around, electing not to clip the ball into the box and instead driving it across the ground to Fish waiting at the edge of the box. Fish takes a touch to set himself before driving the ball left footed into the top corner, leaving the keeper grasping at air.

58' Inter London 1 - 2 AS Paris

An entertaining game saw multiple chances fall for both teams through the remaining portion of the second half, but fortunately for Paris neither team was able to convert. An exciting game for the neutrals will have been more uncomfortable than ideal for a Paris team looking to make a title charge in the second half of the season, but with 3 points secured they will be happy with their performance on the day.
