Victoria Eagles had to concede to wake up in their victory yesterday after conceding early in the first half against Stockholm. Kiziltas smartly tucked the ball away from 6 yards after smart work down the left flank. Pruney provided the cut-back which was asking to be buried in the back of the net in the 9th minute.
Eagles didn't take long to get back on level terms just 5 minutes later. With their possession heavy style again at the forefront of their tactical philosophy, a throw-in was taken near the oppositions 18 yard box and 14 passes later the ball was being placed in the bottom right corner of the net. Smart link-up play between Walker and MacLeod on the edge of the area allowed MacLeod to get his 2nd goal in two matches and Walker's 2nd assist of the season.
Walker wasn't done there, with him being central to the Eagles play all game, he got what he deserved in the 58th minute and saw the ball smashed into the net with a brilliant 20 yard half volley, brilliantly teed up by Fischer from the corner.
Despite some scares late on in the match, Eagles did more than enough to claim the 3 points. After the match Walker had this to say about his goal:
"It was there to be hit, sometimes a pass sits up so nice you just have to hit it, that was one of those occasions. As soon as it left my boot I knew it was in. Most importantly though was the 3 points it got us. Good team performance. On to the next one."
With the match stats showing Eagles having 58% of the possession but having the lesser xG (1.14 vs 0.56) this Eagles side are clinically taking their chances when they come.
