The regular season has kicked off and my first official season as the Liffeyside / Rova OM is upon us.
The expansion and inaugural draft class came and we are very excited with the haul of good people and players we have brought into the LIF locker room. @Crunk has taken on the tactician role and we are already seeing some signs of just how impactful having a good tactician can be. While Liffeyside has not won a game yet, they drew with Shanghai 2-2 in the second match of the season and gave Reykjavik everything they could handle in a 2-1 defeat. The roster in Liffey is not one that strikes fear in the hearts of opponents just yet, so being able to hang with some much higher TPE competition shows just how much value Crunk has already brought to the team. Even the 4-0 loss to USP had signs of Liffey being able to hang with the big teams.
While I know there is a lot of room to improve, I think there is a lot of optimism that we will get there sooner than later and behind the scenes we are working tirelessly to improve in anyway we can.
On the minor league side of the spectrum, Rova started off slow dropping their first two games to Paris 4-1 and Rapid Magyar 3-0 but rebounded with a 6-1 shelling of Cairo City. We then lost to FC Kaapstad 4-1 but again bounced back and today we defeated AF Masques Sacres 4-3 improving to 2-3. I believe strongly that Rova will finish in the middle of the table with the team we have in play and the strategies we are investing into this season, and then could be an upper echelon team by next season. From there The hope is that in another couple seasons we see a lot of the Rova pieces migrating to Liffeyside and get Liffey to the top of the SSL majors table as soon as possible.
