A Deep Dive into "Fan Happiness"

As of late I have been extremely obsessed with listening to different Sports Youtubers give their takes on the 'Happiest Fanbases' in their respective sports and all sports in general.
Due to this obsession I went and thought to myself, "I bet, I could do something similar for the SSL!"
So here I am, doing just that for all you fine people.

First up, the criteria, what makes a fanbase 'Happy'?
I came up with about 7 mostly constant metrics that I think makes a fanbase 'Happy' and 1 negative metric for fanbase 'Happiness'.
We'll start with the positives, each being worth 1 'Happy Point':
1. Being in the top half of their league
2. Being a 'Contender'
   a. Being a 'Contender' is described as ending the season within 7 points of first place, aka the last 3 games of the season were meaningful.
3. Winning their league
4. Winning the Founder's Shield
5. Deep Playoff Runs
   a. Semifinals Appearance
   b. Finals Appearance
   c. Winning the Cup
The Negative metric was last place finishes, being worth -1 'Happy Points"
Now I also had several other metrics that faded in and out due to changing league structures.
In Season 1 there was no Founder's Shield, so that point was not given out.
In Season 5 a promotion / relegation system was introduced, which spawned some changes:
1. Relegation was worth -1
2. Last place in D1 was not given an additional -1 and only received the negative points from Relegation
3. Promotion was worth +1 and did stack with being first in D2
4. D2 teams were given extra bonuses in the cup tourney
   a. +1 points from QFs
   b. +1 points for Semifinals Appearances, Finals Appearances, and Cup Wins on top of the standard 1 point for achieving those
5. As part of Season 5 only, the teams that started in D1 were given 1 point and the non-expansion teams that started in D2 were given -1 point.
The Season 5 changes 1-4 were kept in place until Season 12 when the league moved to a Majors/Minors system which caused the following changes:
1. Promotion and Relegation points were dropped
2. Last Place in both the Majors and the Minors received the Last Place Finish negative points.
3. The special D2 cup tourney bonuses were transferred to the Minors teams
4. In Season 12 only a D1 team became a Minors team (AS Paris) and received -1 points and a D2 bound team became a Majors team (AC Romana) and gained a point.

After deciding how to give out points I then had to find how I planned to weigh them season to season, would the fans of S22 really be "Happy" with a team that won the title in S1 never to be seen from again.
I think NOT.
Thus, I decided that each season would give points to the future at a rate of x/(n+1) where x is the total number of points in a given season, and n is how many seasons ago those points were earned.
ex: In Season 1 Cairo City won the league earning: 1 point for being top half of the league, 1 point for being within 7 points of first place (0pts behind), and 1 point for being first.
     Cairo City also received 1 point from Cup Play by making the semifinals.
     This brings Cairo City to a league leading 4 happiness in Season 1 and while their Season 1 fans sure are happy, this wonderful season is only worth (4/22) or approximately 0.18 points of happiness to a Season 22 fan

Now that we have all the math out there for how we calculated fan happiness, what do we do with it?
Rank the teams of course!!!!!
So without further ado here is my rankings of Fan Happiness at the end of Season 21 (I do have the numbers for our current point in Season 22, but that is for another day):

1. Reykjavik United - 15.1 Happiness rating (3 from S21)
2. Uniao Sao Paulo - 9.4 Happiness rating (6 from S21)
3. Hollywood FC - 9.3 Happiness rating (5 from S21)
4. AS Paris - 8.2 Happiness rating (5 from S21)
5. FC Kaapstad - 7.5 Happiness rating (4 from S21)
6. North Shore United - 6.3 Happiness rating (1 from S21)
7. Schwarzwalder FV - 6.1 Happiness rating (0 from S21)
8. Tokyo SC - 5.9 Happiness rating (1 from S21)
9. Montreal United - 4.9 Happiness rating (2 from S21)
10. CA Buenos Aires - 4.7 Happiness rating (1 from S21)
11. Inter London - 4.4 Happiness rating (0 from S21)
12. Seoul MFC - 3.6 Happiness rating (1 from S21)
13. AC Romana - 2.3 Happiness rating (0 from S21)
14. Athenai FC - 1.1 Happiness rating (0 from S21)
15. Sydney City - 0.004 Happiness rating (0 points from league play since Season 7)
T-16. CD Tenochtitlan - 0 Happiness rating (0 points from S21)
T-16. Shanghai Dragons FC - 0 Happiness rating (0 points from S21)
T-16. Krung Thep FC - 0 Hapiness rating (0 points from S21)
19. CF Catalunya - -0.2 Happiness rating (-1 points from S21)
20. Cairo City - -0.46 Happiness rating (-1 points from S21)
21. Rapid Magyar SC - -0.50 Happiness rating (0 points from S21)
22. Red Star Laos - -0.615 Happiness rating (0 points from league play since Season 13)
23. FC Rio - -0.624 Happiness rating (0 points from league play since Season 3)
24. Adowa Accra FC - -0.7 Happiness rating (0 points from league play since Season 10)
