Playing in the outfield takes getting used to.

After a full career as a pretty good goaltender (Muunokhoi Sarantsatsral, perhaps you've heard of him?), I created Tlacaelel Tepoztli to be a player who, above all, would teach me about the outfield in the SSL. TT (not the only player with those initials on the team!) was conceived around playing two very different positions, with the intention of being worth playing at both and switching from one to the other. So far, that's not working out. He's only playing Shadow Striker so far, and that's his only minor disappointment in Rova.

The rest of the build plan is working out ok, though. With Rova being mid-table in its inaugural season, TT gets to measure himself against better and worse opponents in roughly equal proportion. He is still a rookie, though, and only 7th in TPE on the Rova roster. 30th in assists and 45th in goals feels fine for a player whose whack build plan probably takes a while to hit its stride in a TPE-driven league.

As far as play style goes, carefully chosen traits were meant to make TT sneaky on the field, arriving suddenly and opportunely in unexpected places to create chaos. The eye test says that's off to an OK start as well, though surely a play style stands out the more competent a player becomes, and TT is nowhere near what he needs to be to stand out on the Rova team. By the time he does, his TPE will probably make him deserve a spot on the Liffeyside squad in the majors, and, at a glance, it looks like the big league team might have space for him at Wing-back before they have space for him at Shadow Striker.

I did this to myself, really. But: I am learning the ups and downs of outfield play.

The article demonstrates good command of language and presents its subject matter (TT's progress and your own adjustment to an outfield role) effectively. The structure is solid, and the piece flows well. The use of data enhances the piece. I wasn't engaged to the "upper echelon" but it was a very solid article.
