Schwarzwalder SV
2–2
Hollywood FC
An exciting fixture between an old giant and a relatively new top team in Hollywood. Against the run of play, Schwarzwalder took the lead from the penalty spot after 35 minutes, only for Hollywood to respond just three minutes later. The score stayed level until the 66th minute, when Hollywood scored their second to take the lead. However, barely five minutes later, SFV managed to equalise. These teams simply couldn’t get away from each other for long, and even though Hollywood dominated the chances in the final stages, they had to settle for just one point.
Xelaju Cósmico FC
3–3
Shanghai Dragons
A game that pushed both teams to their absolute limits. Xelaju took an early lead, but Shanghai equalised before half-time. Xelaju went ahead again, only for Shanghai to level once more. When Xelaju scored their third, it looked like they would finally hold on, but Shanghai once again found a late equaliser in the final minutes of extra time. An exciting match that Xelaju will feel they should have taken more from.
CF Catalunya
2–5
União São Paulo
São Paulo had something to prove after their disappointing draw against CABA in the first game, and they showed their intent early, taking the lead through a penalty in the fifth minute. However, just five minutes later, Catalunya managed to equalise. It took until the 60th minute for São Paulo to score again, and after that, the floodgates opened as they quickly added a third and a fourth. Catalunya pulled one back before São Paulo sealed the game with their fifth. A nervy start but, in the end, a convincing win for São Paulo.
Reykjavík United
3–0
CD Tenochtitlan
Reykjavík were in their element, easily dispatching CD Tenochtitlan. They never looked troubled at any point in the match and continued their impressive form this season. Three goals with no reply for Reykjavík, a confident and commanding performance.
Tokyo SC
1–3
AC Romana
AC Romana continued their fine form with Dobríc once again finding it easy to hit the back of the net. Tokyo had flashes of good team play and managed to get a goal back later in the match, but in the end, Romana earned a deserved win, with Dobríc completing a hat-trick.
CA Buenos Aires
5–1
Liffeyside Celtic FC
Buenos Aires impressed against USP in the first game of the season, and that form continued here as they dispatched Liffeyside with ease. What started as a slow match ended in a goal fest, with Buenos Aires scoring five and Liffeyside only managing one in return.
