Schuurmans is making a difference?
#1
We are on the road with CS Rova Mpanjaka on our way to Montreal to play against Montreal United. You can see the tension on all our faces, but maybe even more so on the face of Robbie Schuurmans. He feels he is not performing well enough for the team that is competing for the top spot in the league. Yes, he has scored a couple of goals this season, but his ratings have been kind of average. The other week he had a really bad turnover that lead to a goal. He redeemed himself later by scoring the game winner, but it is these bad passes that keeps costing the team and putting more stress on Robbie Schuurmans. During warm up of the game against Montreal the team coach approached him. He has been noticing the stress Robbie is carrying with him and he is trying to make him feel more comfortable. It is a big game today and winning will make sure that CS Rova Mpanjaka stays in the race for that top spot. Robbie starts to feel more confident and when the game kicks off he's all over the pitch. Making great defensive plays, couple of beautiful passes across the pitch and then.... he scores. He is over the moon with the goal, all that worry seemed to be for nothing. His teammates are celebrating with him. Yes, he is a part of the team and yes he is contributing in a good way. He just needs some time to get used to the level of competitiveness in this league. He will get there with the help of his team and his coaches. In the end CS Rova Mpanjaka won the game 3-1 and taking 3 well deserved points back home.
