Even though I joined the team with only a few matches left in the academy season, I can say I’m proud to be an Eagle! It was so lovely getting to know all my teammates, and I have got to say that lifting the trophy with my new teammates at the end of the academy season felt super special. And what a team it was! Building from the back, we had Brad Woof who was a brick wall in the net; Bodhi Grizz controlling the defensive flow of the game from his spot at CDM; and Jonathon Jameston passing up a storm. Up front, Peach Toadstool and Scat Cat were probably the most formidable striker duo in the league, combining for 17 goals! And of course we can’t forget our wings, myself (who got carried) and Vumion, who is the master of the strong cross into the box. It was a tough road to hoe for the Eagles, with a couple other very strong user-led teams in Stockholm and Sydney. But we pulled together under the leadership of the magnificent Giacomino Raiola, who nurtured us through the difficulties of early career life in the SSL. All in all, it has been a great experience and one I would not trade for the world. Thanks to my teammates for welcoming me in with open arms, and I cannot wait to see how all of our careers end up. Up the Eagles!
