La Veu de Catalunya - Big Win Over SFV
#1
CFCat Catalunya grabbed a huge win over SFV, and while there might no longer be hope for clinching a last minute position for D1, it puts a dent in the SFV campaign.  CFCat
Although SFV had the first real chance of the game that required Twinkletoes to get involved, Bamford proved his worth for Catalunya with a beautiful curling cross into the back post where Joga Bonita could finally head home a goal that he's surely been waiting for a while. The Camp de la Industria erupted in cheers, as Bonita celebrated with his teammates for a great starting point.

VAR stepped into the match only a few minutes after the first goal and recommended an on field review for a penalty on de Giron, but the referee didn't find anything wrong with the challenge and decided to play on. Even if Qartista would be disappointed, Varnson definitely happy looking back on the match after a short corner led to a ball for Varnson at the top of the box, who smashed the ball into the top corner. This rocket put Catalunya 2 up on the Germans.

Qartista's time would come right before halftime after Fry played a wonderful through ball behind the lines, sending Varnson into the opposing 18. Varnson took a touch down and pulled it back for Qartista to tap it past the keeper with ease, sending the Catalans 3-0 ahead.

Joga Bonita broke the long second half deadlock after Varnson and Fry linked up. Fry sent a whistling low whipped cross into the middle for Bonita to smash it into the top corner, giving goalkeeper Williams of SFV no chance.

Catalunya grew very comfortable into the last 10 minutes of the game, maybe too comfortable. SFV managed to pull one back in front of the traveling fans through Suzuki, a player well known to Catalunya. Even though this late goal was conceded, it wasn't enough to mount a courageous comeback and Catalunya persevered to the final whistle.

Catalunya play a threatening CD Tenochtitlan for the final game, and even though it may look hopeless for the club, there is hope that Catalunya can still pull off a great result, just for the morale of the club.
