The final matches in group play for group C is today.
Currently Pyrenees leads the group with a 2 - 0 record and a +4 GD. My USA squad sits 1-1 with a 0 GD.
Oceania also is 1 - 1 but currently have a -1 GD and sitting in 4th is the Alpine Federation at 0-2 with a -4 GD.
All 4 squads still have a chance to advance though it appears Pyrenees is a lock for the one seed as they would need to lose handily to Oceania to fall out of the top spot and frankly I don't see Oceania beating them by 4 or more.
USA pulls Alpine for the final match today and would advance with a win or draw coupled with an Oceania loss. Oceania needs to win or draw against Pyrenees and then have Alpine win outright against USA to advance.
For Alpine it's a much tougher road. They would need to beat USA by at least 3 goals AND have Oceania lose by at least 3 goals to guarantee themselves the 2nd spot in the group. While it's a longshot, it for sure is not out of the realm of possibility as I think Alpine is a better team then they've shown through their first two matches.
The game schedule has not been released quite yet but I am hoping that the Oceania game is played first as the result there greatly affects what USA would need to do to advance past the group stages.
