The last two Liffeyside Celtic games have been fantastic if you're a Celtic fan. a 3-0 win of CDT followed up by a 1-0 win over AC Romana.
The only problem I have with the games is that they just can't seem to figure out who the POTM should be.
In game one they gave it to Orla Hughes Galloway. And sure Orla had a gaol and seemed to be all over the place. But you know what they missed? Puma Superhoops . Superhoops made the initial pass to set up the play in which Hendry got tripped up in the box which led to the opening goal on a PK by Miedema. Without that pass, that goal never happens.
On goal two by Dybala, where was Puma? You guessed it he was outside the box away from the play distracting Bloodflame in order to open up the lane that Dybala used to score. Without that distraction, I am positive that Bloodflame would have been in position to make a defensive play and prevent that goal. And then finally on OHGs goal which did pretty much put the game away at 3-0 what do you think Puma was doing? Well he was protecting the long ball. It was off a corner that Bahl hit and it bounced around in the box where OHG did eventually hammer it home. But if Puma wasn't standing at midfield preventing a CDT breakout, then what would have happened if that ball bounces the other way?
FM just does not understand the importance of being out of the play preventing other plays from happening and it's sad.
In game 2 the POTM went to @GHamss Snor Lax. And yeaaaah sure it was his third clean sheet of the season. But POTM? Lax only made 3 saves! Where as Carolien Miedema was making run after run. And even on Takahashi's goal Miedema actually had the ball on her foot first before her own teammate Hendry stripped her of the ball and moved it out to Takahashi. Yes the goal was a thing of beauty, but if Hendry just gets out of the way the real POTM Miedema surely hammers that home.
Also I just want to point out that Lax actually DID concede a goal, but Roma was just offsides so he got lucky there. Once again the off ball presence just being ignored by the sim. It's just a shame.
