S26 Academy Scouting Profiles
#1
More exploration with the APIs and this time I’m looking into the Academy. Specifically, I thought I would take a look at all the players, their attributes, their traits, and just anything that could be pulled out in an attempt to summarize them. Along the way, I’m hoping to find other interesting stats.

As a note, the scouting reports that I’m generating below aren’t meant to actually be meaningful. Sim has its own logic, so this is more just for fun and how you might approach it as a real world scout making assumptions based on attributes. From what I have seen, Traits are generally unknown as to true sim impact but for scouting, I’ve given them pretty important quantifiable impact.

Scouting Profiles
In order to try and simplify the readability of scouting profiles, I attempted to cluster the different Academy players into clusters based on the type of player they appear to be. Then, within that cluster, I tried to put them into tiers.

Process:
Each cluster is given a description of what I believe the cluster is. Then it is given attributes that are the cluster values. Cluster Values are listed in order of importance with the attribute that gets the highest impact first. Finally, a bonus is added for traits that fit that cluster.

With the formula in place, every player was given a “score” based on the attribute weights and the trait bonuses. Then, those scores were broken into tiers based on this logic:
S Tier - Top 20% of scores in the cluster
A Tier - Next 30% (50th–80th percentile)
B Tier - Next 30% (20th–50th percentile)
C Tier - Bottom 20%

Yeah, turns out it was an API thing.

The getAllPlayers API has more recently updated info than getUpdatedBuilds.

I briefly edited fix TPE top 10, but I haven't looked to see if other updates popped in there for attributes.
