With the draft just a few weeks away and only 2 match days left in the academy season I have come to predict the top 10 of The Class of 26 draft with explanations while I also list the full first 2 rounds. Please note this is just my opinion and has not actual sway as it is just my best guess of who will be drafted where. No stats are backing this draft prediction up it is purely on vibes, and what I have seen while watching the match days. Also to mention I am using @McLumberjack's super helpful draft prediction app which is pinned in ssl-help on discord if anyone is interested in taking a look at it. Using the draft board on this app I am assuming 1 teams will be promoted to Majors D1 from Majors D2
In the first pick of the Class of 26 draft I believe that SFV will select Joshua Homme III Esquire Limited (@"o1playz) not only is Joshua currently the number one TPE earner, SFV is in need of a young fullback for Montreal as we could see players such as Henry Andrews Jr. be promoted to the majors with current left and right backs growing older at the team.
At number 2 is a little more challenging of a choice Romana have players in their starting 11 that are nearing the end of their careers with the young guns at Inter London we could see a very important pick made, I think they will pick someone who would prefer to be a center back which is why I believe the second pick of the class will be me Jimothy Erickson (not at all bias) although not currently in the top 10 of TPE earners in the draft class I currently have a steady sim job and am hoping to be employed in other aspects in the future to help with TPE gain.
At number 3 we go back to SFV for their pick they acquired from Tokyo. I believe the choice will be Barry McGlynn (@Definia) , with the third most earned TPE and the ability and want to earn more I think Barry is a no brainer to be drafted at number 3, not only has he been what seems to be a phenomenal BoD intern he has taken it upon him to step up to be the academy manager of Port Royal after Piza had to step down due to personal reasons.
Now we get to Buenos Aries first pick and I don't think it will shock anyone when I say I believe that on paper they will be looking for a striker with the legend that is Scott Sterling getting into his twilight years of his career, I believe CABA will choose Kairo Vox (@Hoodz_91) Kairo a current player/manager for the academy team Stockholm, Kairo has made a name for himself by being friendly and welcoming to all that have joined the league since the start his secondary positions are CAM and ST which is why I believe that he will be a perfect fit for CABA.
XLC currently have the fifth pick and I believe they will draft Reece Munro (@Riipsaw) currently tied with Barry McGlynn in third overall TPE earner this season and currently employed in the SSL as a Stickerer if Reece is not in the top 5 I will be shocked.
Next up SHA have the sixth and seventh pick after CDT gave up their 7th pick in round 1. With SHA unlikely to promote any player to the Majors and Vito Habjanic retiring at the end of this season, they will be looking for active rising stars and for that reason my choices for the 6th and 7th picks are STARSCREAM (@Starscream) and S Sei (@xyan) both of these players have been stars playing in the midfield, they want to control the game, both of these players are also in the top 10 of TPE gained.
At number 8 we have LIF's first pick, with user anuragb being a naughty boy and retiring due to it and the glut of defenders at the LIF organization I believe they will be looking for more forward moving players I believe Dennis van Huntlerooy (@Jeanious) very active player and currently the highest earning tpe striker from the list.
With the ninth pick of the draft RKV have their first selection with Dwayne Pruney very likely receiving a call up to the majors RKV will be likely looking for someone playing Left Defender and I think the best man for the job will be Alex Pena (@CRMO15) although one of the only academy players with a red card I think he fits the bill for a player that plays up and down the wing and can hit early crosses in.
With the 10th pick and the final one we will be discussing in greater detail USP will have a tough decision ahead of them but I think as Nick Kasak (@nckkss) has not been drafted he is the obvious choice to be added to a already strong USP orginization.
Getting into the remaining picks, I will be choosing players solely on what I have seen in match days and their performance in them
HOL 11th pick selects Nacho Kursoa leading academy goal scorer even though he is not close to the top of the academy
HOL 12th pick selects Scorp E. Unshark looking to balance their selections
SFV 13th pick and 1st pick of round 2 selects Dante Von Wolfe out and out striker who is hungry for goals
HOL 14th pick selects Joe Mormor very active player and very friendly
USP 15th pick selects Owen Goal forum only player but that shouldn't shy people away from drafting him
CABA 16th pick selects Moew enBach the first goalkeeper taken of the draft
XLC 17th pick Saphira Brightscales I mean they are a dragon, watch out when they are coming in to make a challenge
CDT 18th pick with their very first pick of the draft due to trading away their higher positions choose Christopher Bergmann
LIF 19th pick will select Ignignokt a scrappy midfielder
XEL 20th pick will select Martin Krpan one of the last centerbacks in the draft
RKV 21st pick will select Umaq Yupaniqui one of the few goalkeepers active
TOK 22nd pick which is the first pick for them, I belive they will be selecting striker Blaise N'Kufo
CAT 23rd and penultimate pick I belive will be selecting Bruce McAllister
HOL with the 24th and final pick of the second round I believe will select a goalkeeper and this player is Eric Duic, has grabbed a commentary job so should be able to help earn more of that TPE he is missing out on compared to the top earners.
This is my mock draft of the first 2 rounds, I would like to reiterate these are my own opinions and there are very little stats to back them up besides earned TPE from the portal. If you have any disagreements or debates let me know I would be happy to hear from you!
