A Villain Arrives
#1
Something that was noticed early about Kaz's playstyle is that he rarely, if ever, looked like he was in a panic. Nothing seemed to faze him.  Opponent got by? He'd just run faster and catch up.  A shot got by him? Wouldn't happen twice, he'd block the next one.  Player dribbled around him? He'd adjust his approach or tackle so it wouldn't occur more than twice.

Adaptability.  That was his strength.

When asked why it was that he didn't show emotion, Kaz just replied, "Why would I let them see that? If I am disappointed in myself, that only gives them an advantage.  Give them nothing."

As we saw in our previous article, he's a little intense in these things.

It seemed the more he could impose his will on his opponent's playstyle, he finally showed them something. A cocky smile. The kind of grin that would just drive the opposition to become annoyed and make even more mistakes, which would only make his confidence grow.

"I don't mind being the villain.  I'm here to stop the other team from scoring, to take away the thing that gives them joy.  Sometimes it's good to be the bad guy."

With every game, Kaz steps into that mindset, even now.  The competition is greater, but he wants to be the reason the other team has nightmares.
