Analysis of the worth of specific Tasks (for beginners)
#1
After reading the headline some of you might not need to read this as it is mostly aimed at beginners in the SSL or just people who did not bother to look further into the money you could possibly earn from articles, graphics, videos or Podcasts. Of course, everyone should do what he is best at and what brings him the most fun.

To get started the conclusion was made with the assumption that writing an article is generally the easiest of them which as said some might disagree with.

Firstly we will look into the graphics in comparison to the words of an article.

graphicarticle
1/5 = 100.000$below minimum words
2/5 = 250.000$200 words (minimum)
3/5 = 450.000$360 words
4/5 = 700.000$560 words (~Academy Task 5)
5/5 = 1.000.000$800 words

As you can see, the maximum payout for a 5/5 graphic is 1.000.000$ which is equal to 800 words but to do a 5/5 graphic you have to be really good at doing these. The so to say standard is 3/5 which brings in 450.000$ which equals 360 words. I do think that this is fair because having done both graphics and articles I would say that firstly both take an equal amount of time and are not that hard to do. Getting a 2/5 is the moment where I would say you should rather write an article if you need the money because 200 words is not that hard to do. Especially if others may give you ideas or you just write about your own player or team. If you receive a 1/5 you either had no time or no clue how to do it and definitely should switch to articles for money because even reaching the minimum 200 words as said is not that hard and brings in more. A 4/5 is hard to determine, if doing graphics is fun for you or does not take you long or you cannot write long, decent articles, you should continue otherwise it is a you thing to determine what you like more.
Also take into account that you can only get 5 graphics per week graded. Although that should not be a problem for many, for this one person it may be.

Next we look at the Videos. Quick disclaimer I have never done a video for the SSL because I find it hard to even think of anything I could do a video about but again if it is one of your interests you should do it. Especially when looking at the table below.

videoarticle
1/3 = 500.000$400 words
2/3 = 1.250.000$1000 words (minimum)
3/3 = 2.000.000$1600 words

Again we start with the maximum payout which here is 2.000.000$ for an at least 4 minute video with good quality. This definitely is worth it if you are not a great article writer because 1600 words is a lot. So get your bag because you deserved it when doing such a video. The 2/3 is debatable because I would say it probably takes equal effort and time for both so this is mainly preference. For a 1/3 video you could also have written a small article and maybe even get more because the word gap between 1/3 and 2/3, even though being the same as 2/3 to 3/3, is massive because mostly I have seen people either write about 300 to 600 words or over 1000 words so get that 600.000$ for some words more and call it a day rather can doing a, sorry for the wording, crappy video (the description for the 1/3 makes it seem like you have to have done absolute shit that is barely watchable)

graphicvideoarticlemoney
3/51/3360 - 400 words~500.000$
5/52/3800 - 1000 words~1.000.000$

When comparing graphics, videos and articles the video 2/3 suddenly seems really good and probably takes about the same effort as a 5/5 graphic but to write 1000 words is probably the easiest for the average person since you just could do a Mock Draft with your own flair and opinions about the upcoming Academy players with some depth and have already about 1000 words. The 1/3 video in comparison to the 3/5 graphic seems reasonable because they are on one level but a 1/3 video is just not something I would aim for personally because the graphic is in terms of quality at least mid, while the video is yeah… something else…

Now we get to the last option Podcasts. Here as well quick disclaimer I have not done a podcast, so I do not really know how much work it needs. Podcasts only give money up until 60 minutes and have to be at least 10 minutes long, so keep this in mind for the following calculation.

podcastarticle
10 minutes = 500.000$400 words
60 minutes = 3.000.000$2400 words
1 minute = 50.000$40 words

1 minute of podcast time equals 40 words which I would say is perfectly fine because doing a podcast I would argue is automatically harder than writing an article, so it is perfect that only if you write quickly you are able to get to those 40 written words in a minute. Although I must say that only doing a 10-minute podcast is not worth it as 400 words are quickly written but doing a podcast upwards of 20 minutes, so 1.000.000$ (800 words) is definitely worth it’s time and every minute longer the podcast gets better than the article because of the sheer amount of time you need to think about what you want to write and where you want to go with the text. So even though on paper it stays the same in practice I would argue it differs the more you write.

If we now compare all the different options, I would say from 200 – 1000 words doing an article is the best option. Everything upwards of 1000 words is a bit more complicated as I would say a Podcast upward of 20 minutes is then the best but only up until 30 minutes then I would say comes the 3/3 video but because that is the highest of the graphical ones the podcast becomes again the best option after 50 minutes up to the maximum 60 minutes and because nothing goes higher than this the article upwards of 2400 words is the best, but to even get to 2400 words will take you a while. This takes into consideration all the above stated time it takes to produce the specific things. And although there are no specific times stated because it is hard to give an estimate since everyone needs different time for the different things it should give you a good overview of the options available for you and the things that are just obviously not worth spending time for when the goal is money.

I would gladly appreciate some feedback because I am sure I over/-underestimated some time consumption like for the video or did some other mistakes that I just overlooked.

Actually, I'd love to do a video but I can't expect to get more than 1/3 using only Canva (to some extent)...
