Shion Okamoto looks back on his career so far after the culmination of his second season. He spent his first season in Tokyo FC, before being tapped on the shoulder to be exposed in the expansion. When asked about that experience, Okamoto said "Tokyo was in a bit of a transitory period, and I felt okay to be given a new opportunity on a new team. It made it especially special to know that I had the possibility of going to a team with managers I knew well at Catalunya FC. And as it turns out, it was a great honour to be the first (non-manager) player to be selected to play for Catalunya FC. I thought we had a great inaugural season and we will continue to grow as our team has more time to develop in the league."
Season 2 also saw Shion Okamoto moving to a new position, running the wing on the right side of the pitch. He had moderate success on that side, notching 4 goals and 2 assists over his 12 appearances in season 2. It is definitely something that he will be looking to build on as we move on to start season 3. He also managed a passing percentage of 87.8%, and cited that has one of the improvements he would like to make in the upcoming season. "This offseason I have really been focusing on training my playmaking ability, I want to be that guy that can get the killer ball onto my teammate that leads to a goal. I know after this season I had a successful crossing percentage of only fourteen percent, which is absolutely horrible, so it is definitely something that I will be looking at improving this season."
Hopefully, Shion Okamoto can pick up where he left off in Catalunya and improve some of his lacking areas.
