#4 Versatility [Now Open to S21 Players]

Tom Mæddisen doesn't really enjoy the off season. It is boring to only work out and not compete against the others. But Tom Mæddisen does really enjoy to make passes against a wall. Kick it towards the wall, calculate the bounce, get control of the ball and pass it again. Or just one time it towards the wall several times in a row making it more and more difficult using the angles. Tom Mæddisen really enoys making passes. Beautiful passes is what makes him the most happy in the game of football. It is more fun to set up someone else with a beautiful pass than to score on your own. And that is why Tom Mæddisen always practices passing and through balls. Even corners and free kicks, but mainly sweet sweet killer balls that can become goals. Tom Mæddisen's career goal is to get more assists than his childhood hero that is also named Tom, but Pedersen as surname. Tom Mæddisen will probably not get as many assists as Tom Pedersen in Montreal since Tom Mæddisen has already been promoted to Schwarzwälder Fussballverein and will not play for Montreal united again for many years to come. But hopefully he will get more assists in total during his career. At the moment he is missing a mere 87 assists to catch up with Tom Pedersen, but would like to get like 110 more to get the total assist leader in the SHL. That is a bit more farfetched to be honest as those that have gotten the most assists in the SHL have been wings or forwards, but that does not mean that Tom Mæddisen gives up on his dreams. He will go all in to make it or break it. To the future and beyond or dwindle to the grave. There’s no inbetween. Glory or nothing.

Matias decided to fly back home, to where it all started on that fateful day that he got picked up by a random scout visiting Misiones, Argentina. When he touched down in the small airport that Posadas holds he took a breath of humid, but fresh air. He felt already at home. Having had to move to Montreal and now Germany to continue his career post his days at the Medellin academy, he has taken well to the cold weather. It could always get cold where Matias was, but never the way he found in Montreal or Germany. Matias wasn't here for pleasure though, he was here to train his footballing abilities. With mate and his termo in hand he made his way to a small town outside the city of Obero called Guarani, the language of those who lived here speak. He saw a small pitch, one of those rugged ones that you would find in any rural place in Argentina. He went into a small house, that was right by the pitch and decided to knock on the door to see if the family had a football and some cones, as every Argentinian child is given such things when they begin to walk.

He was greeted by a small child who instantly recognized him, but he did not have any love behind those eyes. The following is roughly translated from Spanish, "Your Matias Xavier, the central defender from Misiones right?" the kid asked. Across Matias' face a smile begins to creep in, "Why yes I am, do you happen to follow the SSL minor league?" The kid did not reciprocate a smile, "No, but I saw your terrible ad for the gambling website called 1xBET, and so did my father." Matias was a little disappointed the child did not greet him better but decided to continue the conversation to see if he could get what he wanted from him, "I hope your Dad liked it more than you did! I was wondering if you had a football and some cones I can borrow as well?", Matias replied trying to feign a smile. The kids eyebrows began to shift as to put on a stern face, though unconvincingly as the kid was maybe about 8, "He did, and now we are in massive financial debt because of his gambling addiction which he only got because of your commercial! We had to sell my football and cones to pay back some of the debt and that was gifted to me by my grandpa when I first began to walk." Matias lost his smile, then he began to ponder momentarily if he was really going to debate an 8 year old on whether he or the kids father was to blame for the gambling addiction and the absolute absurdity that life is in itself. Matias decided against it responding curtly, "Well, I am very sorry to hear that, may you have massive financial gains in the near future!"

With that Matias turned around and went to go knock on the next persons house to the right where he did receive a football and some cones. His training was rather usual as it always was nice to train in your backyard, and with that Matias decided to call it a day.

Approved - That is a conundrum. I don't blame Matias.

Coming off a career year with Krung Threp, Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame got to work training for the next season determined to be the next face of the CD Tenochitlan franchise. The first thing she focused on was her shot accuracy, where she placed targets on a the goal net to practice her shot placement and accuracy, and intentionally made a robotic goalie with the team manager’s face on it to use recording lines of them yelling if she missed a shot in order to motivate her to improve. It took a lot of tries, but after the 30th try, she managed to hit all the targets in rapid succession. The next thing she looked to improve on her speed and stamina. For this, she set up an AI team based on footage from her games the prior season, and also put trackers on herself that tracked speed, and it would shock her if she was getting tired or was running too slow. Initially, she got shocked a lot due to low stamina, but after a week or so of training, she was able to keep up and even exceed the speed of the AI team, but then she decided to focus on improving one last part of her game that she felt that could be improved on. She modified the AI simulation to focus on headers and goal scoring. She was determined to be the league leader in goals. She imported the top SSL players into the AI sim in order to size up the competition and simulate scoring on headers. At first, her headers kept getting saved, largely due to a bad back posture, but then she adjusted her angle slightly to the point where it was near impossible for goalies to save, and then fake them out with her trademark bicycle kick finishing move. She then posted her gains to her millions of online followers just to show off how good she got.
