#1 Biography
Delvecchio is unsure how to measure his rookie season. From a team perspective, he thinks, and believes that most would agree with him, up to what was expected of the team. A very poor performance on the pitch, fighting for last place with Catalunya, and trailing fellow expansion team Tenochtitlan by 9 points. All things considered, it feels like a miracle to Delvecchio that this team won two games in league play, but then, when thinking back, this was the same team that brought Tokyo S.C to brink the Cup quarters and almost advanced after a grueling 20 round PK Shootout. This season was all about patience for Tony and the rest of the Dragons. Expectations where low and this was a feeling out and getting into the groove season. You could see that as the matchdays marched on. Games went from being blowouts against Shanghai, to being losses, but the team looking competitive in spurts. Delvecchio knew that this was just the first season of many, and the team was just beginning to click. He was in no rush, and knew that patience was required to see this team flourish.
Delvecchio himself had had an okay rookie season when compared against his own standards. The adjustments to a new scheme, and a new role, vastly different from the one he played on Stockholm, had taken its toll on his abilities early on in the seasons, but again, patience was the key here. Delvecchio managed to score 3 goals in the last 6 matches of league play, and contributed to another down the home stretch. There's still plenty of room for improvement, and Tony knew that he needed to play better for the team to get better. But this was just his rookie season after all. From now on, the sky is the limit!

Biography
Upon the season finishing, draft day arrived in a flash and with it a phone call from Thailand. 48 hours later and Jonny Elliott had swapped Port Royal for Bangkok, a twinge of sadness accompanying him on the long flight. What awaited him was the chance he had been dreaming of, his first pro contract. Krung Thep FC were the team that had chosen to take a punt on the young Gosforth born full back and Jonny was determined as ever to ensure it paid it off for all parties!
It didn't take long for the 'King of the Bleep Test' to find his footing and he quickly became an influential member of the dressing room, earning a role on the leadership team alongside team mates Jota, Tut and Patterson. Krung Thep are a new outfit and the first few fixtures of the season were raw but promising with Jonny staking his claim as real offensive force on the left wing alongside his team meat Joe Mamba!
Jonny has stood out with his ability to drive down the left flank and consistently deliver dangerous balls into the box for his teammates to capitalise on. Some solid performances throughout the season have left Jonny Elliott on an average rating of 7.31 after 16 appearances, coupled with an impressive 7 assists and 1 goal. The left side of Krung Thep is noted for their key passes per 90 minutes with Jonny leading the way, averaging 3.84.
The offensive focus to Jonny's game has not been without issue, Krung Thep have been exposed defensively down that very flank but this is something they have managed to tighten up of late. Having said that as long as they score more than the opposition then Krung Thep and Jonny Elliott will continue to make excellent progress.
Next season there is talk of a jump up to the Majors league but Jonny is only focussed on ensuring Krung Thep finishing this campaign strongly!
APPROVED - I'm sure Joe's thrilled to be called team meat

It was a season to remember for Seoul Mythic FC's rookie Díabhí Barr. Selected with the 3rd overall pick in the S20 SSL Draft, expectations were high for the creative Irish youngster, and the player, fans and team can all look back on his first season with satisfaction. A part of a huge draft class (known by fans and pundits as the Seoul 7, although off-field factors have now reduced this to the Seoul 6) for the Minor League team, Barr played a key part in revitalizing the club and bringing big hopes for the future of her Majors counterpart Catalunya, who finished last in this years Major League. Being a natural central attacking midfielder, Barr, like in his Academy season, slotted into the right attacking midfield position with great success. Supported from the right wing back by his former Academy teammate Andres de Giron, the dynamic duo once again was a major problem every defense they faced. While Seoul finished the league in 4th place and thus will not have any silverware to show for their season, spirits are high for the young squad who many feel played beyond what was expected of them. Barr himself notched up an impressive tally of 8 goals and 5 assists, proving to be a constant threat cutting inside from the right wing. The Irishman has an 7.34 average rating to show for his rookie outing, which ranks him 21st out of all Minor League players. Behind the scenes, Barr also enjoyed a productive first season, interning with the BoD, helping Seoul/Catalunya with their tactical setup, joining the commentary team, and most of all, being named Vice Captain of the Seoul team in his first season. Expected to stay on the Minors side for next season, only time will tell whether the young Irish star can make another leap and push Seoul towards another title charge.

It has been a wild ride for Dohbra, his risky attempt to go outside his country for a new academy proved to be fruitful, he's grown twice the man since he came to Istanbul, academy has had its ups and downs just like his team, made new friends, learned about the sourness of defeat, the anger of being helpless on the field, the sweet taste of revenge. He became a star overnight, spotlights were put on him for a match where the table couldn't show all his goals, but that's where his world crumbled for the first time in this journey. This wasn't him, he wasn't supposed to take the glory on himself, the media, the attention, worse than that, the expectations that came after, that simply wasn't in the plan. People look at you differently after scoring 8 goals in one match. In the next match, Dohbra was on the field, physically at least, mentally he couldn't bear the pressure that was put on him. He didn't recreate his wonder match. He got better over the season and even earned his name among the top 3 goalscorers of the league, and in the end, it wasn't dribbling, passing, or even scoring, Dohbra evolved the most mentally, he learned to put behind him the bad and even the good.
His academy season went past, the draft wasn't the best of memories for Dohbra, he was expected to be one of the hot shots of the academy, but he was a late choice, maybe a bit fueled by his later found ego in the academy.
Nevertheless, Dohbra finds his way to the bright lights of Hollywood, sharing his right wing with another rookie. He definitely wasn't the shiniest of the stars, but he still managed 5 goals and 3 assists, helping his second team to fight for the title, managing a 3rd spot in the end. Seems like a new hurdle came in his way, one that, at least for now, he's not good enough to pass by yet.

A terrible academy season, drafted as 57th (9th to last) and only 2 goals to his name, that’s is how Giacomo Santori ended the academy season, some people would have found a lot of shame in this but they aren’t Santori, a man known for his unshakable optimism, he was just happy to play for a new team, though he knew that something had to change for the better if he wanted to keep on playing.
And what a better place to think about what to improve than Athens the city where the great philosophers of the past would meet and discussed about the idea of thinking about thinking; after a meeting with the manager it was decided that Santori would have to start a differentiated training in order to accomodate for his new position and sistem he would find himself in Athênai.
Santori will play for Athênai in every single match of the season as a starter mainly as a LAM and sometimes as a RAM.
Despite a great showing as a RAM (his now natural position) during the first half of the season scoring 4 goals and assisting 1 Santori was forced, after being convinced by the manager, to play as a LAM (his now secondary position) because of a lack of better alternative on the left wing; despite the change Santori managed to score and assist once on the left wing.
The first professional season for Santori would see him and Athênai being:
eliminated by Hollywood 14-1 on aggregate in the round of 16 in the cup
8th place in the minor league (just like at VFE, another 8th place for Santori, old tradition seems to die hard).
Despite a not so great season Santori managed to wash away the shame that was casted upon him before and after the draft.
The stats of Santori in his first professional season:
22 matches played
304,7 kilometers runned
5 goals out of 4,79 xg
2 assists
81,49% pass completion
6,7 average rating
2 penalties gained
no matches won or drawn in which he scored
APPROVED - good job digging hard into the stats. That last one hurts.

Yoma Hashimoto’s start to the SSL ended up being rather different than anything he could’ve imagined. Regarding getting into the league, he was more than confident in his own ability to exceed expectations, physically speaking. Having a ripped body such as his and the speed of a seasoned athlete, he was sure that he was an ideal candidate for the league.
Sure enough, he was accepted into the Sydney City Kangaroos for the Academy League. However, he unexpectedly began a tight friendship with two other aspiring players of the same team, Roquefort Cotswold and Nerve De Groot. Like him, they had the drive and the confidence to reach the top of the league one day, and while they would get competitive with each other, Yoma and Roquefort in particular, it was all for the betterment of their own abilities and their respective teams.
Going into his first Rookie Season, Yoma’s physicality allowed him to dribble up and down the field multiple times throughout the game, delivering the ball from defense all the way up to the offense. While he struggled with his own need for glory when having possession of the ball, he played very well overall with his teammates. One group in particular that proved to be a lethal trio of technique and force was Yoma, Roquefort, and Nerve. With the three of them playing on the midfield line, they were able to support the defense considerably and supply their striker with many opportunities to score on the enemy teams. While the Kangaroos weren’t able to get first place that year, we were hot on their tail in 2nd place, and Yoma's performance was impressive, leaving the Academy with an average rating of 7.61 (6th in the whole academy!). Statswise, he ended off with 7 goals, 9 assists, 18 shots on target out of 30, 63 crosses, 55 dribbles, and 29 whole interceptions.
After a memorable and explosive Academy League, Yoma was pumped to move up to the big leagues finally, and following an extensive scouting period, he was chosen to be a part of the Uniao Sao Paulo team. To his delight, he was reunited with Roquefort and Nerve once again, and with the trio fresh and ready to play for Sao Paulo, Yoma was eager to make his mark in SSL history.

Career PT #1
Sandro da Silva had an up and down rookie season in the academy for Sydney. More up than down, but there was a certain thorn in his side that continued to plague his season. We will return to that topic in a bit. For the most part, Sandro was able to play his game and attack effectively down the right side of the pitch. He recorded 7 assists on the season, which was just one shy of the lead amongst all defenders, despite playing in one fewer game than most of his closest competition. He led all academy players in attempted crosses and finished second in successful dribbles, which demonstrated his direct style of play well.
As part of the Academy Champions, Sydney City FC, Sandro played nearly every minute of the season and really nailed down his spot at right back. While he was tasked with a lot defensively with his team using an extra midfielder and just one center back, for the most part he performed well in defense as well. He was in the top 5 amongst academy players in interceptions as well as winning the majority of his aerial duels and 82% of his tackles while committing just 7 fouls. Teams did manage to take advantage of the unusual defensive setup that Sydney employed on occasion, however, and that brought his rating down to 7.21 on the season. Sandro's 14 km run per game demonstrates how he was expected to both contribute in attack and cover the entire left half of the pitch in defense.
Back to the thorns in his side from last season. Stockholm used two left wingers and a left back during the season, which generally meant low ratings every time he played them. He was marked by three players in attack and had to defend all three at once both overlapping and underlapping into the space where another CB should be. On the flip side, he generally enjoyed great ratings against the other teams in the academy as they had many more attacking players than they had defensive talent. An interesting battle this season was between Sandro and Tommy Moff from Victoria Falls. Moff was tasked with both attacking and defending the entire left side of the pitch for his team, which meant Sandro and his teammate Daniel Herrera could take advantage of the numbers when they attacked, but even without support Moff attacked the area between Sandro and Sydney's center back very effectively and Sandro definitely had his hands full in that one on one matchup in defense.
After all was said and done, Sandro went on to be the final pick in the first round by CD Tenochitlan and will be off to Bangkok to continue his maturation as a player with Krung Thep this upcoming season.
Approved - love the focus on potential player rivalries.

VAN EYNDHOVEN - EPISODE 1 - NEWBIE
A series of interviews with rising star Ryan van Eyndhoven.
‘And with pick number 27, AC Romana select…
Ryan van Eyndhoven!’
Interviewer: “So Ryan, how did it feel to finally be drafted?”
Ryan (grinning): “Hmm, my first thought was; ‘Took them long enough’ Haha!”
(He chuckles, leaning back in his chair with a relaxed smile.)
Ryan: “But seriously, I was happy. It seemed like a great organization, they had already told me from the start that it would be a project, and I was just glad to be a part of it I guess.”
Interviewer: “How did you feel on your first day? Were you excited, nervous?”
Ryan (nodding slowly): “A little bit of both I think! Of course I was excited, finally getting into the SSL system! Albeit starting in the minors, I was super happy to get that chance. But it was also nerve-wracking. What if I wasn’t good enough? What if I failed? I struggled with that at the start, but I managed to quickly put that behind me.”
Interviewer: “And what was it like, leaving your teammates, friends, and the rest?”
Ryan (pausing for a second): “Well, during a season you uhm... build a bond with your teammates so to speak. You grow close, become friends, that kind of stuff. And leaving that behind wasn’t easy. I still miss some of my buddies to this day.”
(He smiles faintly, then shrugs.)
Ryan: “Luckily Kim also got drafted by Romana, so I wasn’t completely alone.”
Interviewer: “What did it mean to you, wearing the Inter London shirt for the first time?”
Ryan (eyes lighting up): “Oh man, it was surreal. I’d seen those colors on TV growing up, now I was putting it on myself. I had goosebumps walking out that first time—even if it was just a pre-season friendly. It felt real.”
Interviewer: “And how would you describe your rookie season?”
Ryan (grinning): “Well, the highs were very high!”
‘And there is another goal from Van Eyndhoven to make it a brace!’
Interviewer: “And the lows?”
Ryan (his smile fades a little): “The lows were... very low.”
‘And a crucial mistake by Van Eyndhoven, his error leads to the goal, and Inter London have a mountain to climb now.’
Interviewer: “In the first half of the season you were in top form, and that all fell away in the 2nd half, could you tell us why?”
Ryan (leaning forward slightly): “Coach decided to change the tactic—”
Interviewer: “So it was the coach’s fault?”
Ryan (quickly shaking his head): “No, no, that’s not what I’m saying! He moved me to defensive midfield, told me that it would be better. But I’m an attacking-minded player, I like to attack. Defending just wasn’t my schtik, if you know what I mean.”
(He laughs lightly, but his tone stays serious.)
Ryan: “So I struggled with changing my mindset, my style of play to be more defensive. And honestly, I still haven’t managed to do it. I still want to get forward, create chances, get in the box—you know, be involved. I’m competitive, that's just who I am.”
Interviewer: “Do you feel like the club understands your style? Or are they trying to fit you into a system?”
Ryan (hesitating slightly): “Hmm, bit of both maybe? They say they want to give me freedom, but then again, football is tactical. Systems matter. So yeah, sometimes I do feel like I’m being squeezed into something I’m not 100% comfortable with.”
Interviewer: “Was there a moment where you thought, ‘Okay, I belong here’?”
Ryan (smiling again): “Yeah, that first goal. Outside the box, I took a risk but it went in and suddenly I felt, ‘Okay, I can do this. I can play here.’ That was big for me mentally.”
Interviewer: “And then my last question for today: Rookie season—success or no success?”
Ryan (sitting up a bit straighter): “I’d say it was a semi-success. Got multiple assists, a couple of goals, had some great passes… But I think we all deserved more than 7th place. We were aiming for top 4. All in all I’d say I did a decent job for my first season. But not completely happy—I want more.”
Interviewer (grinning): “Hungry for more already, I like it. We’ll be watching closely next season.”
Ryan(with a confident nod): “Watch this space.”
That was it for my yap session!

CPT #1 Biography
The first season saw Liz enter the academy for Athletico Madelin, a team based in South America, where footy is considered a religion. Naturally, she would need some time to learn the differences between her native Manchester and the Venezuelan culture. She didn’t do much in her season in madelin, finding the back in the net twice and having one of the highest pass completion percentage in the academy. This caught the attention of a few scouts in the league mainly those in São Paulo, Mexico City, and Black Forest. Elizabeth was very concerned that she wasn’t going to be seen as a future star and that she might not be picked at all. However, Madelin had a decent season, but it was best known for a late season collapse that saw Sydney City win the academy. The day of the draft had arrived and Liz was much more nervous than she was expecting due to the lack of much conversations as she was seen shaking in the draft room constantly holding on to the phone that would ring later on. As the draft started, Madelin management stood by her side as the picks came in as several names not named Liz got selected, she began to start crying and planned a flight back to Manchester to continue her dream back to square one. But then, her phone rang, she finally was selected, by there was an unexpected twist. She was selected by Reykjavik United FC, a team who was consistently ranked among the best in the league, but, they traded her to one of the newer clubs in the league, CD Tenochitan. The good thing about this is that she didn’t have to fly back to Manchester. The bad news is that she had to learn another dialect of Spanish, and possibly be used as a sub player going forward because of how bloated the league had gotten recently. (337 words)

Damian DeSoto's rookie season went just about as expected. For some, they may have been disappointed by the poor results, but Damian had enjoyed open and honest communication with his manager before the season about what their expectations might look like. For example, Damian knew that Rapid Magyar was going to be one of the worst teams in the league, with their only hope being to finish above Cairo City or Athenai FC. This would not happen, and Rapid would end the season in last place, with two wins, zero draws, and a whopping 16 losses. During this time, Damian did not focus on the results, but he instead focused on honing his skills and hopefully impressing enough to move to Shanghai the following season. In the end, Damian only managed an average rating of 6.71, but his manager motivated him to keep improving and working harder.
Damian's most exciting moments of the season were the few times he was able to score. The first came in a friendly before the season, in which, during a corner kick, he headed the ball off of the goalpost and back to himself, proceeding to smash the ball into the back of the net. Damian hoped that this was a sign that he would be a prolific goal scoring defender. However, he only managed two goals the rest of the season, although it was somewhat satisfying to have gotten any goals at all as a defender. A statistic that Damian was very proud of at the end of his rookie campaign was that he had zero mistakes that led to goals. Damian often had the mindset that even if he could not be the driving force to winning a game for his team, he still wanted to not be the reason for losing the game, and he believed this statistic showed that he did not let that happen. Damian looks to continue to improve in his next season for Shanghai. More losing may occur at the major level as well, but Damian still believes in his ability to be elite.
