Peter Oak Player Profile - A Draft Report

A product of the Reading academy, 6 foot 2, 185 lb Englishman Peter Oak is now draft eligible for the SSL. The young midfielder is most comfortable at the center of the pitch, but is able to play further up in the midfield or out to the left of the midfield if needed. Oak thrives most while playing in a possession based system where you will find him coming from deep to collect the ball from the keeper or defense, and quickly moving the ball up the pitch into the opposition area. The standout qualities that Oak has based around the former statement, with fantastic dribbling, first touch and passing abilities for his age, and a high work rate. He is no slouch on the defensive side of the game as well, boasting quality tackling abilities, solid positioning and knows where to be when off the ball.

Like many others in the upcoming draft, Peter Oak is not yet a complete player. He has many skills that he needs to work on in order to truly become a great midfielder in the league. The technical aspects of his game that he wants to improve upon mainly is his crossing, free kicks and long shots. Oak recognizes that these aspects of the game is vital to the new age of midfielders that are being developed in the football world and to give his team that extra threat outside of the attacking players. He also wants to continue to improve on his composure, determination and decision making abilities, but again like many young players in the league, they haven't had time to season and develop these abilities.

Player Agent Zack Hoover has been in contact with numerous clubs that have expressed interest in the young midfielder and has put out a statement "Peter has expressed that he is happy to join any of the clubs in the SSL. We do not expect Peter to be a starter right away in the league, but does expect to be apart of the cup squads in order to start the integration process into the senior team."
