I suppose you’re familiar with all the various locations within the SSL Headquarters from your time as SFV OM.” Canadice is guiding Duilio through the league headquarters. Duilio is feeling a bit nervous, second guessing his own qualifications despite knowing better, like it's the first day of school. Or worse, the first day moving to a new school. As he is led through the building, Duilio recognizes a few faces from his time as SFV OM, but there are now a lot of new faces.
“It was always the league’s intention to initiate a Hall of Fame department. When plans for the headquarters were being developed, space was created and planned in the original blueprints for the Hall of Fame department. Well, 25 seasons later, we had to prioritize other departments and jobs first. Ah. Here we are.” Canadice indicates a set of doors. Duilio pulls them open to find an open space filled with a random assortment of furniture and boxes. After 25 seasons of not being occupied, the space had clearly developed into the headquarter’s “boneyard".
“I will get some people from Maintenance to help you on Monday to get rid of anything you determine is not necessary, so you can organize it for yourself and your future team,” Canadice comments. Duilio steps through the doorway and turns on the office lights. He begins walking through the mystery piles of supplies, imagining how he will organize the space for his new department. “Thank you,” Duilio comments, turning to Canadice, only to find the league Commissioner had already left. Despite the hoards of desks, filing cabinets, and office dividers, Duilio notices the walls are completely untouched, not even one thumbtack hole. There are a few interesting piles of files stacked amongst the bookshelves and desks, such as photos of inaugural league teams, the headquarters ribbon cutting ceremony, and the 10th anniversary kickoff match. One pile catches his eye, a stack of old league media promotion posters of title winners. Duilio finds a copy of the promotional poster of the season 15 undefeated league champions. After scrounging around for thumbtacks, Duilio’s first action as Hall of Fame Department Head is hanging the poster depicting his old SFV team’s first title above the area where he will set up his desk.
