We're going great actually, and with the economy not doing great atm at the org each of us did what he could. I even had to take up to two jobs on top of the training ; I can afford to do so, as I'm not a regular starter in the minors yet. But it might be a story for another day, if I can even find time to write it.
In the offseason I started noticing that someone was mailing us a daily excerpt of the New York Times here in London. I was very curious so I checked and in fact it was not a full newspaper (I would be very surprised if Ryan or Predag allowed a subscription like this, maybe that's part of why we're in this difficult situation in the first place), but just the Wordle. Everyone interested could pick it, take his chances and mail back his answers, until he answers correctly.
So after a hitting a 25-day streak almost two times (yep, I was at fault for skipping on the first one, and we might be reaching it again this time), here is a tip I'd like to share with the curious ones that tried it (and maybe the ones that will try it after reading this).
This one is kinda obvious, but always start with the most frequent letters : A, E, oftentimes S and R, or D. You're usually guaranteed to get at least one letter out of this. If it doesn't work (or it's not helpful enough), try to use the remaining vowels with some combined consonants (hence why R or L that are most commonly used in consonant pairs).
With that, you can expect to have enough information for an educated guess, unless there are doubled letters (still looking at you, ALLEY...), you will just suffer when it happens.
I guess that's all, don't have much to add and I'll have to run to the training ground today, in the rain... See y'all on the next one !
