London Rising
#1
London, England

The early stages of the minor league season are underway, and Inter London couldn't have asked for a better start. They are currently in first place with a 3-0 record, with four goals for and only one against.

Their first match saw them win a tightly contested game against Montréal United 1-0. Ryan O'Neill scored the winner, and London were able to keep the clean sheet despite having less of the ball. Their second match against Seoul MFC was much more eventful in terms of total shots, but two big goals from Miester Blobbé and Chris McZehrl gave Inter London their first winning streak of the season. Their third match against Athênai F.C. was a dominant effort, outshooting their opponent 19 to 3, and they were ultimately able to get one goal past Misagh Khabiri, a first of the season for Arthur Cain.

As for João Mendes, he's been able to get plenty of match fitness under his belt as he's started all three matches and played all 90 minutes. He currently has an average match rating of 7.13, with 2 key passes, four total shots, and a 87% pass success rate. On the defensive, he's been successful in 84% of his attempted tackles, made 8 interceptions, and 4 clearances. He's committed 5 fouls but has yet to pick up a booking.

This will be a big week for Inter London as they are set to face CS Rova Mpanjaka and Cairo City, the two teams right below them in the standings. This will be a real test to see if the first few games were just luck or if they will be in contention for promotion at the end of the season.
