Yes it is that time of the year.
Actually it is not, but who cares…
1 week full of nothing so might as well look at next seasons Draft Class and rank them.
This ranking is based on current TPE, although the maximum right now is only 37 more than the 250 everyone starts with (so 287) the position the play in and whether this position is needed right now. For this I am using the Position tracker of the SSL and am looking only at active players and I do not take into consideration if players in this position are retiring or regressing. Because I myself am fairly new to the league I have no real clue about any recreates so I will not take this into consideration but I will look if they got a league job because that boosts drastically. Lastly to differentiate people who seem identical I look at what name or render I find better.
Let’s get right started with the obvious number 1 pick

His Cheeseburger (@Domffl) – Striker 280TPE
The Number 1 pick is pretty obvious. Although there are already a lot of strikers in the SHL His Cheeseburger stands out because of having a job as the Hollywood FC Assistant Manager therefore being able to get money easier to progress and also because having a job generally means that you are an active player which is the most important thing in the league.

Rylakn (@Rylakn) – Left Wing-Back 287TPE
The player with the most TPE currently is going second for me although there are other people with jobs in this class, mainly because it shows that he knows how the league is going by already purchasing the seasonal TPE as far as possible. On top of that being LWB a role which definitely is rare to see but much needed because of the few players playing it. So Rylakn goes second for me and if he continues his pace as now he might at the end still be in the Top 3.

Ciaphas Cain (@Pyro182) – Goalkeeper 250TPE
Even though he only has the 250TPE everyone starts with as of right now and plays Goalkeeper a role which only rarely is needed because of the few amount of players needed in this role in the league he stills goes number 3 because this is our 2/2 player with a job in the league which makes him a lot more attractive for teams than any other player this draft. Although Cain has a job he still only goes 3rd because of the TPE he is behind as of right now.

Max Velox (@Sizz) – Right Wing-Back 280TPE
Being a RWB massively helped Velox’ case because this is the position with the least amount of active players (not counting LM and RM because who even uses them in their tactics?) therefore he automatically ranks higher than some other promising talents

Paulie Wag (@Pelochyta) – Central Defender 280TPE
CD is also one of the roles in which players having this position as main role are needed because it is only at 1.91 players in this position while the average team field 2 while some even use 3, depending on their tactic. So some new CD would definitely suit the league. Wag was tied with #6 Nelson but Wag has Poliwag as his render which ultimately cut the edge for me.

Idris Nelson (@Kino ) – Central Defender 280TPE
To make this a bit shorter I will simply say, look at #5 to understand why he is ranked this high and you also understand why Wag was just a better player. (as of right now) I Hope this boosts Nelsons moral so he will always try to be better than Wag. Otherwise he got beat by a Pokémon. Happens…

Landy Donnie (@Mode) – Left Attacking Midfielder 280TPE
Next positions we go through is the LAM because although having the third most players with it as secondary position, teams want players to be connected with their position. Landy Donnie seems to have the needed activeness teams like to see being one of the Top earners of his class (everyone is, but who cares. This is my Mock Draft) In my eyes he had to be ranked higher than the following players because of his render, Kevin Hart.

Aaron Noxus (@noxu) – Left Attacking Midfielder 280TPE
At place 8 Aaron Noxus is my projected pick because he just is not as good as Landy Donnie in terms of player render although I sincerely hope that the commentators pronounce his name A-a-ron (@McLumberjack I mean you, if you still do the Academy commentary)

Thomas Thunder (@Quitolis ) – Left Attacking Midfielder 280TPE
The last of the three 280TPE LAMs has also arrived. Double T (his name from now on) only gets the last of the 3 because nor his render or name were funny/creative enough to get him a higher place. But hey 9 of 18 Academy Players is still better than half.

Captain MetalBeard (@TubaDeus) – Right Defender 280TPE
Captain MetalBeard is in my opinion only Pick 10 because the Right Defender position is the outside defender position with the most active players therefore not as much needed but also being able to play RWB helps his case massively. Right now we can only dream of Captain Metalbeard defending the right flank in the Major League like he was fully out of metal but I hope one day I will be able to see it with my own eyes.

Bonnibel Bubblegum (@PBubs900) – Striker 280TPE
If you only look at Princess Bubblegum you already know what great of a players lays behind this. Even though striker is a position that is not that often needed, some teams always look for players that will develop great and when I look at Bonnibel Bubblegum I see such a player that is definitely worthy of a shot.

Adrian Scochnikov (@Chris) – Striker 280TPE
A Russian mystery. A player with no face and only darkness beneath the nothing. As said for Princess Bubblegum striker is not a position many teams look for especially since there were a lot of high quality strikers in last seasons Draft but you never know so some teams might pick him up on the way to glory. He only landed on 12 because Princess Bubblegum is just the blatantly better name and render.

Callum Wiggins (@wigmeister14) – Central Defensive Midfielder 280TPE
Playing in the most popular role with 50 players having it as their primary position is not helping Wiggins’ Draft stock as that means he will not be needed in much teams and therefor won’t receive much playing time in this position in the Minor League. Besides that there is nothing you can really say about this player as we can only wait and see what his future holds, but without a job and being one of the most active players in the Academy it will not be easy for him to get a good Draft position.

Swiss Cheese (@SoySavant) – Goalkeeper 280TPE
Being a Goalkeeper is extremely hard in the SSL because only 24 are needed at all times so there are not that many spots in time where you would need a Goalkeeper and with having Ciaphas Cain already projected at #3 there is no real space for other goalies. This player might have to change his position after the Academy or he won’t have a future or maybe he is lucky and enough Goalkeeper have to retire for him to join but that is unlikely. He is #14 and not #15 because the name Swiss Cheese is just more rememberable than player #15

Slim Towered (@stankpicklez) – Goalkeeper 280TPE
Here goes the same as for Swiss Cheese. Goalkeepers are not that often needed and in a competition with 2 other Goalies it is hard to be the one on top.

Peg Bittner (@CharethCutestory78) – Central Midfielder 250TPE
Being labeled as inactive in your first Week of joining the league is not something Teams look for and therefore the Picks from here on are mostly irrelevant if the players won’t come back online because then they will not get picked nonetheless. Bittner is the highest of them 3 inactive people, because he is a CM which of their roles is the most needed one.

I hope you enjoyed my Way too early Mock Draft even though it was not the most serious one I still did put some effort in it to make it entertaining and also good to read.
My next and final Mock Draft will happen in the Week of Academy MD12 and MD13 and as last season will talk about the Mock Draft purely based on player statistics (just hoping the Index will work accordingly this season because last season was something else with having to handpick the stats from FM)
