After only making it to an Academy team about halfway through the season, it was a surprisingly busy offseason for me. Almost immediately after coming back and winning the Academy League with Jakarta came interviews with scouts, and AGMs with teams in the SSL. I ended up having conversations with 6 total orgs and I think the interviews went well and going into the draft I didn't have a favorite and was excited to get to play for any of them. The most interesting interview I had was done by the Catalyuna/Seoul as sitting across from me was my good friend David Doug II, when I left Poland me and David Doug trained and competed against each other in all levels of soccer, since he's a bit older than me he got picked up by the SSL a few years before me so it was a great surprised getting to see him again. Leading up to the draft I trained my best to get those last second gains to prove I'm worth a pick.
On draft night I was at my house with my family knowing I wouldn't be a top pick. The first real excitement of the night was seeing one of my teammates, Ignignokt get picked #4 overall by my dad's old team Sao Paulo/Paris. Two more of my teammates Maurjiro Rivers, and Saba Kvekvetsia got picked in the 3rd round and I was super happy for them but at the same time starting to get nervous for myself. The 3rd round was ending and I started having doubts, did I join the draft class too late, did I not play well enough to get noticed unlike my teammates? Thankful I didn't have to wait too much longer as with the last pick in the 3rd round the Catalyuna/Seoul organization decided to take a chance on this hard-workingng Polish midfielder. My family freaked out when the call came in, my dad who didn't go through the draft when he joined the SSL was probably more nervous and relieved then I was. After getting done talking to the GM I was immediately in a group chat with the other Catalyuna/Seoul draft picks; ST Dennis van Huntelrooy and RB STAR SCREAM, we all seemed to click pretty well together and the three of us were very excited to get to play together. Training Camp was a blur, but I did learn a lot and really grew as a player. Now tomorrow for the first time I put on a Seoul uniform, playing alongside my childhood friend and a bunch of great players. I'm ready to make my dad and the Catalyuna/Seoul organization proud as I begin to carve out my legacy.
